What book(s) are you reading now?

I recently finished:

"Do androids dream of ecectric sheep?" By Philip K Dick

"The Killer inside me" By Jim Thompson

"To have and have not" By Ernest Hemingway

Just ordered a couple books last night actually, I want to read Pygmy by Chuch Palahniuk.

Currently Reading: "The Savage Detectives" by Roberto Bolano

Confessions of an English Opium-Eater by Thomas De Quincey

Modern Tanka ed. Makoto Ueda

Just finished "Ask the Dust" by John Fante. It was pretty good but I expected better because of all I've read about him in Bukowski's work.

Right now I'm reading "Keep the Aspidistra Flying" by George Orwell. About halfway through. This one's interesting. When I can spare $15 I'm gonna pick up a Henry Miller book. Not sure which one yet, though.

Cyberabad Days by Ian McDonald, it's compilation of sci-fi stories about India in the 2047. I would recommend it to anyone who likes Philip K. Dick or futuristic dystopian sci-fi.

The Bonfire of the Vanities by Tom Wolfe

really liking it so far. REminds me of Saul Bellow a bit, and some of Georgy Orwelly.

Confessions of an English Opium-Eater by Thomas De Quincey

great book

I'm working on some pretty thick science reading on immune function but "Gai-Jin" by James Clavell is currently distracting me.

"Speak, Memory . An autobiography revisited by Nabokov. I won't lie-it's a splash challenging, but I love it. It's full of great passages of insight. Applicable to (anyone's) life.

Dirt Music

another by Tim Winton.

I really like this author, but with so many Australianisms in his work I wonder it's appealing to non-locals.

hundred pages into Robinson Crusoe. Also reading New Sudden Fiction. Class reading. Before the quarter started i was reading Songs of the Silent Snow by Selby Jr., which is his short stories. So it was relatively easy to give it up for the moment and start my class reading. I cant juggle too many books.

My general rule of thumb is anything written before the 1800s is of no interest to me, but Robinson is bearable so far.
