Has he joined the third reich yet?

Ooh. Asia Argento, eh? I can see why you approve :D.

Will research - thanks :).

I am currently reading The Silver Locusts by Ray Bradbury. It's about man's attempts to colonise the moon and the way they fall prey to a mysterious hypnotic, hallucinatory disease. Tis odd. But it's Ray Bradbury, so that's a given :).

that book's a classic, just noticed how stereotypically "black" the horses name is

I'm reading "Walking the Dog" by Bernard Maclaverty.

A collection of short stories, snapshots in lives. It's very good but does not compare too well to his other stuff. And the protestant/rc thing is a bit too evident in his storytelling.

The Wisdom of Crowds: Why the Many Are Smarter Than the Few
by James Surowiecki

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Wisdom-Crowds-Many-Smarter-Than/dp/0349116059

Great book, but it does cover a lot of ground very quickly,so it feels slightly rushed. Asks the question " is a group of people smarter than the smartest person in the group" :|

Uses lots of examples from financial markets, AI, betting markets, psychological experiments, game theory, nature, etc etc

Pretty interesting. and a quick read to boot.

Ha! Just read that and giggled greatly :D.

"Then Daisy slapped the alcohol and drugs out of Latawnya's hoof." You just can't argue with prose like that =D.

If those naughty humans hadn't swiped all their ketamine than they wouldn't have to resort to booze and weed. We should all be deeply ashamed - we kill horses by making them turn to Bad Drugs! 8o8o8o.

hah for my A Levels I'm currently studying The Great Gatsby and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I actually prefer The Great Gatsby. Fear and Loathing does convey some feelings that all drug users will have from time to time but I can't get over the fact that it's just a shapeless splurge of thoughts.

It flows in some places, but it's still shapeless, I can't really explain it. It's just all Thompson's thoughts written down, reminds me of my posts on here when I'm on mephedrone. It seems to be quite an arrogant book in my opinion, especially as it's autobiographical. Love the film though :)

I thought it was a great read, thoroughly enjoyed it. Much more so than his other books.

fear and loathing to me is much more coherent than a random splurge of thoughts, certainly more meaningful than your nonsense stimulant induced bluelight posting ;) why are you describing it as arrogant? thompson actually learned to write by typing out the great gatsby over and over again on his typewriter to get a feel for it.

I've just got count zero by william gibson and hemmingway - the collected stories out of the library and will dive into them a bit later. have been reading a lot of sci fi lately and feel like breaking the streak.

Just finished the new Adrian Mole book by Sue Townsend - The Lost Diaries.

I was expecting in the new instalment a follow up from Weapons Of Mass Destruction, but alas, I was abit dissapointed. Although I enjoyed the new book none the less, and kudos to Ms Townsend again for her ever lasting wit, even though shes almost blind as a bat now.

I used to love Adrian Mole. Not read any of the more recent books though. The kid who played him in the short-lived TV version went to my school, although he was a few years above me. It was the source of much mockery, for reasons that some will probably be able to work out.

Evad: I'm a bit of a William Gibson fan but, again, haven't read any of his more recent stuff. Count Zero is a goodie though. I also like Bruce Sterling who writes in similar vein.

I am currently reading... not much. But really will read Beyond the Valley of the Dolls in the very near future :).

Just started "Down and Out In Paris and London" by George Orwell, which i'm enjoying so far, makes me imagine 1930s Paris pretty well, n makes me want to go back to France! There's this ace argument on the first page with a landlord and a tenant, who's infuriated them by squashing bugs on the walls repeatedly... :D =D

Still reading Paul Therouxs "Patagonia Express". It varies from being really interesting to boring as hell from chapter to chapter. :\
