I will check these out, I love that emerging psychedelic sound it would sound cheesy today but these people were on the cutting edge of a world youth movement in consciousness.

The Elevators are one of my all time favourite bands, Roky Erickson is something very special IMO and made some great material in his later years, it's great to see that his health is so much improved of late. The documentary film about his life is well worth a watch.

Roky Erickson - Creature with the Atom Brain

The Butthole Surfers did all they could to help Roky, you can really hear the influence of Roky's later stuff in their music.

^ Got that pumping on the woooofer. Seem to find a lot of samples used over n over in some of these old tunes, not that its a bad thing!

I always used to like the ' you alright mate ?' mainly because I may have been looking a bit off it..just a tad...alright?? alright ?? that doesn't cover it mate I'm fucking ecstatic. Good times mate, it's only looking back you realise just how mental those early free parties were, I went to one NYE 92 that was reported to have 10,000 attending for a single sound system all 'avin it in total freedom.

Like most the system I attended had their big tunes that endured, this one was a real fav of mine, fast and twisted with a big helping of ecstasy as it should be

Mystic & DJ Fire - Homegrown Volume 1

and another

Vibes & Wishdokta - VW Vol 1 Side B

I used to club a bit, mainly labyrinth in Dalston in the early days, it was the only place I found that played the underground sound, wind up the pace and hold it there....relentlessly. Commercial dos were utter shite in comparison, DJs taking over for their set and totally dropping the pace, being more interested in there set than the crowd and moody security and people, I'd be lucky if I got in anyway :D
