Quality tune imo but i can understand why your mate thinks it's a cheese burger.

I hope you agree he's totally WRONG. As he was to buy the Jazzmaster. But hey... great Zep choices. I think I'll drop my Zep bombshell if I can find it.

lol <3 you too Mysh....try that mix though, it's not as yoot as you might tink. Starts off the mix with a real drawn out intro to the Smiths, How Soon is now, you might even like it

Intriguing. Does it get 'up' and euphoric, or stay pretty mellow and Smithsish? I could always find out for myself, though I'm in a loop right now that's hard to get out of. And my bones hurt a lot. Poor me.

One day, you, atm23 and jancrow will have to educate me in the transition to real non-rock / alt / hipster stuff. As in the proper way; I'd end up into psytrance or summat otherwise. Get a couple of pills down me and I'll dance to anything though; often the cheesier the better. Not for everybody within earshot, or any clubbing buddies (I went through a brief phase) who might have to be seen with me, but I can just about tell the difference. Most of the time. Remember that I grew up in the era that 'rave' music (as it was called back then) was effectively pop. And I couldn't be seen to be liking pop.

Though the way things are going, I'll have to have a change of scene for a bit soon. And thirtysomething clubbers are a common sight these days, I guess.

Fuck, I'm rambling. What did I mean to put on?

Oh yeah, it was this: Skin - Girl Come Out

Not the nineties hard rock band (though I'd be perverse enough to lay that shit on anyone just now. No, it's Swans brief 'disguise', which produced their biggest hit (as if anybody would've bought it expecting upbeat industrial grooves if it had 'Swans' on the cover), albeit only in the Western European gay / S&M scene. Which probably delighted the odd couple consisting of a former music industry prostitute and a suicidal gloryhole enthusiast.

I love the Swans, even when they're pretending they're happy. Or the 'revival' that we don't mention. But they much preferred this kind of thing, at least early on.

Swans - A Screw (Holy Money) Live

Believe it or not, that was danceable on record.

And if that hasn't exhausted / bored / puzzled you, here's proof they meant it. Fast forward to the last few seconds if you're just into self-damage in the name of art. Then consider the fact he had to work in a sheet metal factory the following day:
Swans - Beautiful Child Live

Blame bad parenting, a spell in prison and lots of methamphetamine. And it's a cleansing experience on acid, take my word for it. :)

Pagey, that's the first In Through The Out Door Zep track I think anybody's posted. Congratulations!

I forget about that album; I think it's because it's so different in terms of production values. And Robert sounded (and looked) ten years older. Must dig that album out, and Presence too.

So you've just changed my mind from Ten Years Gone (which would make me all dewey-eyed and clucking anyway, but is still one of my favourites for various reasons). And instead we'll go for Robert's tour-de-pain, seeing as I've hedlped erm... lightened the mood somewhat already:

Led Zeppelin - Tea For One

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8eM2W56tv2o - Meiner kleiner freunder.

Das ist das song.

I know I should like Rammstein, and if something comes on by them then I generally don't dislike it. And I'm glad someone else is into creepy music. I just remember them being big with the goth scene at the time I realised just how silly it was. Also, them singing in German (as you might expect) lends everything they do an extra bombast and scariness. So maybe people are right. After all, Swans did the same, while not being German. So that's not pretentious, and Rammstein are?

Maybe I'm very wrong about music in many ways. But since you've crossed the Teutonic rubicon:

Swans In German - scary, but very bad German by all accounts. Even I don't spin this very often, though it has its moments.

Which in turn reminds me of staying at a friend's flat for a bit. His flatmate (who got tired of my constant wind-ups) was convinced this was part of my conversion to Nazism (which was an invention of his own right-on psyche, but hey):

Total Deutschland - Iron Mountain

And they say Germans don't have a sense of humour? :D

Yeah, it is quite apart from the others. Maybe also because it was essentially written by JPJ as opposed to Page. Presence in particular is really worth remembering I think though, lots of great stuff on that album - including the one you posted! I really love that piece. Shame they never performed it live.
I think Since I've Been Loving You is in order.

Well, I'm now convinced that on top of looking like Jagger, you've also got fantastic musical taste. Sold! =D
