What are you learning about these days?

Animal husbandry - goats. This is something I probably won't invest in until next year when I have some time. But the idea is to raise them free range (grass-fed) and harvest the meat in a way that is truly "green" and "organic." Then market and sell the products (meat, milk, cheese, yogurt, etc) as organic at gourmet farmers markets.

Commercial mushroom harvesting - there are more than 10 species of commercially harvested mushrooms where I live in the Pacific Northwest. Learning to find and identify the valuable ones and when to harvest. I have been going out and doing this some on the weekends this year.

I could go on and make a grocery list of subjects, but I'll stop there.

will be graduating college in a few days (fuck yes) and I have a list of things I want to start learning and expanding my knowledge on during the summer. so glad to have some free time again so i can work on whatever i want!! :)

- making jewelry, more than the kinds i already know how to do. specifically work with metals, glass and gemstones

- improving my skills with javascript and php

- gardening, flowers, herbs, and other plants

- learning how to dance better. i freaking LOVE to bust a move but i haven't been out dancing or to a rave in quite some time. i always admire people who can dance really well and have their own unique style, so i'd love to get some practice in on that. i love hula hooping so i may start trying to do that ;)

Cellular automata, more precisely the mind-boggling things they start doing after enough iterations. Complexity arising from simple rules is fascinating and seems to be a property of the universe.

For entertainment purposes mostly. I meddled with the Game of Life back in the days of learning C :)

International Politics.
Modern Political Theory.
Methods of Political Analysis.
Kineseology (Olympic games/weightlifting)

I need to kick ass these next 2 semesters so I can get into a good law school.

Really exited for school to start for the first time in my life. Tired of busting my ass in 100+ degree heat for minimum wage.

In no particular order:

Tesla's experiments with high frequency alternating currents.

Valve adjustments (side of road) on sensitive orange Austrian motorcycles.

How expensive babies are.

How to make the perfect BBQ patty.

This summer I wasnt going to be working so I took the extra time and studied a lot more of the french language, read a lot of novels, got better at digitally recording my acoustic guitars and even got on a regular running and working out sched.

School starts this week tho so back to no life :p

I'm currently researching a change in career - i still want to stay in Project Management, but i want to work in a field that makes a difference, so i need to further my education. I'm considering studying a diploma in Applied Social Science, with a concentration on community engagement. I can study this for 1 yr part time at night. This will then provide me with enough credits to complete a Bachelor of Applied Social Science in 4 yrs part time. I could easily study a Grad Cert in Applied Business (without having completed an undergrad - yay 10 yrs relevant work experience) but i don't want to spend 8k on a course that I don't have a passion/interest in.

This combined with my project management experience will position me really well into a not-for-profit organisation, which is where i really want to work (dream job = project manager for Médecins Sans Frontières <3)

The MSF office in sydney is right across the road from the apartment we bought. I might move into social research after my degree (only a year left), dunno if i'll stay in unions or try a NGO.

1.) Driving. 8( My folks have told me in so many words that I drive a little like I'm in Days of Thunder, like Mad Max, or Bullitt, or a few other crazy motherfuckers, which I should work on.
1.) Finally getting off my ass to get my own car and own place.

Started reading A Short History of Nearly Everything. It's very interesting. A lot of information to take in, but it's written in a very entertaining way, so it's hard to put the book down.
