What are the chances of having a seizure on Tramadol?

I've taken about 90mg for the pain in my shoulder and let's just say that I was very fucked up for about an hour or so. Very intense euphoria, pinpoint pupils and whatnot.

I'm contemplating on taking another pill (37.5mg) and was wondering what the chances of a healthy male having a seizure with 150mg of tramadol?

As long as you've no history of having seizures, the chances are very, very slim.
400mg is the dose that you need to start worrying about such things.

Ive been taking about 700 mg a day for the last 3 months and I've never had a problem

As Monsta said, 400mg in any 24 hour period is considered the maximum "safe" amount to avoid seizures. Some people get away with going higher than that. Others don't. If you have no history of seizures and are not using other drugs (cos it has hundreds of serious - potentially fatal - interactions with other drugs) you're dandy.

Pretty slim, however my friend did have a seizure due to a normal dose of tramadol. I think she only took 50mg. She is also on Valium for anxiety which should have lowered her chances.. She had a seizure and collapsed on the floor in front of her kids and wound up in the hospital. She had never had a seizure before. It was horrible. I am not saying this will happen to you, just saying it can happen. However if you are taking it at reasonable doses you should be fine. Good luck and stay safe!

Oooh! Also, if you were to take an Anti-Epileptic med beforehand (and maybe even afterwards too) such as a Benzo with a good Anti-Epileptic action, Barbiturates (potentially dangerous though due to their fine Theraputic / Overdose-potential index), Carbamazepine, Valproates, GABA analogs (Gabapentin /Pregabalin), Topiramate etc. etc. etc..... , you'd likely be able to take larger doses with less chance of Seizure happenings ;)

p.s. I'm sorry, I feel like everything I typed there reads out sounding quite spazzish (and now completely un-P.C.) =D
It's one of those nights 8)

Just posted in time for me to also add do not take my words for complete fact!
Really sorry to hear about your friend Violenza

^Thanks alot, she is fine now.. it was just a rough day or so. She wasn't permanantly fucked up or anything. She doesn't take tramadol for her back pain anymore.

wow that is very interesting. i've been taking tramadol for chronic back pain but that has been alleviated to the point where ibuprofen works for it because of weekly visits to GOOD chiropractors and deep tissue massage therapy.

now i take it mainly for its antidepressant effects (inhibition of serotonin and nor epinephrine re-uptake). i've been depressed before i even started drinking or smoking weed. probably child hood or just born with a chemical imbalance relative to most people.
