What and when will it hit? & How bad? (Suboxone / Ibogaine / Walking out of detox)

I'm posting this for a friend (yes, I know that's what they all say, but this time it's true).

THE BREIF BACKGROUND

A guy, let's call him Bob, has a 25-30 bag a day habit; tosses in some coke and drinks huge amounts of alcohol.

Bob gets sick of it (has wiped himself financially, health issues arising, hurting and concerning those he loves and who love him, overpowering depression, etc)... just basically tired of the Zombie "life"

Bob used Ibogaine a couple of years ago and wants to do it again (seeing ----- finally "getting" in his gut that they weren't kidding when they said it's not a "magic bullet" and that it's mandatory to do aftercare of some kind).

Problem is that Bob doesn't have the $ to do it right now and needs a coupe of weeks to put it together.

But Bob gets to the point where he can't take living as he is for another day -- not one more day.

He decided to go into detox; get off the alcohol and to do a Suboxone taper off the dope -- then to go do the Ibogaine.

He checks into a place. Turns out to be a "locked unit" - something they hadn't mentioned. The doors are locked, the windows have high-security screen units around them. They hold your smokes and you get 4 "smoke breaks" per day. You get 2 "fresh air" breaks so you can walk outside; with staff supervision - you're escorted to each meal (to and from). Etc.

Maybe its because Bob did a little time (19 months) many years ago or maybe he's claustrophobic, but - whatever, he can't hack this place. He's then told he has to sign a 48 hour notice to be released.

On Saturday, his girlfriend comes to visit him. They are in a low security area, so Bob manages to "escape." He wins a brief foot chase by a couple of staff. After further communication by phone later in the day, said Detox agrees they aren't going to hunt him down. He's FREE.

THE QUESTION

As mentioned, Bob went in with a 25+ bag per day habit.
While there, he was given 4 mg Suboxone 4 times over a day and a half and a couple Atavan.

It's now been 31 hours (1 day, 7 hours) since he had any Suboxone (or anything else). So far, any withdrawal symptoms have been pretty mild - sweats, some stomach issues.

Bob now has the resources to do Ibogaine treatment again - in 9 days, he's going. He wants to hang on somehow until then. (Was also told he shouldn't have Suboxone in his system when he does the Ibogaine).

Now, I don't think he walked away from a 25 bag / day habit by taking 16 mg of Suboxone over a 36 hour period a day and a half ago . . .

DOES ANYONE KNOW WHAT'S COMING? When it will hit and how bad? Will opiates help when it does hit?

THANKS!!

IME, I was able to go 48hrs pretty easily without suboxone. But somewhere between 48 and 72 hrs is when the withdrawal starts coming on. Once you feel sick, you can usually take opiates to feel better without worrying about the suboxone blocking.

WOW! THANKS! This is from personal experience? I was hoping someone would post who had a clue, but hadn't even dared hoped that someone with personal experience would post. Thanks.

One other / follow up question .... Please tell me that tolerance will be much lower? That is, it won't require nearly as much dope to keep withdrawal at bay? Like... maybe 1 or 2 will do what it used to take many to do? Again, goal here is not to get 'high", its to keep the symptoms under control for the next 9 days.

THANKS!

I doubt your tolerance will have dropped much at all. If anything, the first day you use, you may get a bit higher than normal just because you have been away from your DOC, but by the second or third day, you will be back to the point you were at before you stopped.

It takes an extremely long time for tolerance to drop like months, even years, and some say you can never get it as low as it once was. I also am a believer that once you stop your use, and then start using again, your tolerance increases much much faster.

Well, I prefer truth over good news, I suppose.

Maybe I'm just being hard headed here in even asking this, but ... if the dose used to be 5-6 per shot, any chance that 3 will chase symptoms away? I have less than zero interest in doing anything other than being able to function for the next 9 days.

Also, any difference if I stop shooting? If I snort it or ..... I'm just, just sick of the whole damn thing including the whole shooting ritual. How the fuck did I get here??

I'm thinking about shopping around for pills ... I guess I'll have to wait until I see what I can get before even asking what I'd have to do to stay straight

In any case, thanks for your knowledge and your support.

Mine was from real experience, but I was using the suboxone for long periods of time, and would take breaks to get high on Heroin or Oxy here and there. His tolerance should be a little lower. I was actually taking a very high dose of suboxone (24mgs daily), so it had increased my tolerance since it was stronger than the what I was on.

I would try to get your hands on some suboxone or methadone. But if you go back to H, than just use as little as possible to keep the withdrawals away. I am sure that a 3 bag shot would keep your symptoms away. I was a sniffer, so no IV experience.
