What affects your liver?

What drugs dont have anny affect on your liver what so ever....my friend has a liver disease and she cant do any drugs that even touch her liver.....are there any?

I think you will be okay with most of the stronger opiates (they are metabolized by gluconiration (I cant spell it for shit) which should still happen fine without significant liver interactions...tho I am not entierly sure and you might want to step up the dose slowly in case they hit her harder). Things like fentanyl would probably be the best bet as they are so specific for their binding sites only a very small amount is needed. I imagine acid would be similarly safe.

This does belong in health Q&A. But if she has a serious liver condition then she should stay clear of drug use. There isn't much that goes into your body that doesn't have some effect on your liver. No matter how small...
 
It's not what goes into your liver, it's what your liver converts the chemicals into.
For example, when you get sick from being drunk it is because the alcohol has been converted into ketones, which are poisonous.
 
As far as most liver diseases go, the patient is usually prescribed opiate painkillers by their doctor. I would be almost entirely certain she is on medication for the pain, and if not, she should complain and get on some.
The only thing that's really important is that if she takes a painkiller that it NOT contain any acetaminophen (APAP) or other non-opiod painkillers along with the opiate.
My dad had a liver disease and his first doctor was stupid enough to give him Vicodin. The next doctor realized Vicodin had APAP and was even stupider and switched him to Percocet which still has APAP in it.
Things like OxyFast, Oxy-IR, OxyContin, MSContin, MS-IR, Fentanyl patches, etc. would be fine.
Of course, she may have a specific disease that would not allow for her to take pain medication, so if she doesn't want to talk to her doctor, she should read about it.
