Wellbutrin causes psycotic episodes

I was on Welbutrin for 1 day (for Faked ADHD, I was on Dexedrine and just got that script)... had 2 glasses of wine over the period of 1 hours during dinner... Later I went to a party (my ex girlfriends party). I had a 4 more beers from about 11 - 3 in the moring then something in my head just licked and one second I was completely sober the next second I was blacking out.
This is what I gathered happened...
Apparently I started a brawl with 5 guys... all pretty big guys... I beat the hell out of all of them and finally, when the whole party got involved, I was ejected.
Next I was given my keys...( had given them to someone else in the party...)
Then I got in my 84 Keep Grand Wagoneer and proceeded to do a car-plant into my ex. lexus...which I happened to have paid for half of....Totalling my Jeep, her Lexus(my lexus), and her friends suburban.
I got out the jeep, ran from the cops... They chased me apparrently I would have gotten away if I had had any shoes on at the point... they said untill I tore the skin off my the bottoms of my feet there was no way they could have caught me.. Cause I was running like a marathon runner. They proceeded to restrain me so I did the smart thing a head butted one to get'em off of me and broke his nose(don't do this it's not good for your health)...
So I woke up later in the cop car on the way to hospital not knowing what had just happened. I had lasserations all over my body, a cracked rib(from hitting the dash board), bruses everywhere, and some torn up feet...
I recieved a forced blood test... which I believe was tampered with...
My BAC was .25(I don't know how this is possible..) and I had taken speed earlier in the day and that didn't show nor did the welbutrin...
I was dosed with something in my drink... or alcohol doesn't get matabolized when you are on welbutrin...
So because I had taken that shit for one day I was charged with DWI, assulting an officer, evading arrest, possession of controled a substance, no insurance(I had let it laps bay accident) and jay walking(ok not that)....
Finally after getting a good lawer I got a DWI and a normal assult.
I got $700 for my totaled jeep...
and her parents paid for her car and the suburban.
2 years probation
No community service
and hey it all worked out perfectly
1)I don't ever hear from that bitch anymore...
2)I met the girl I'm going to spend the rest of my life with
3)She said she wasn't going to pay me back for helping her out with that car, so now it's totaled...And when I say totalled I mean I mean the car was half as long as it was supposed to be... I really don't know how I didn't managed to get really hurt...especially with no seat belt on...)
4)I didn't like that jeep so now I have a 67 mustang GT and a 2000 Prelude type SH...
5)I don't ever have to hear or see that silly bitch cunt anymore
6)I got to beat up a cop and virtually get away with it...
7)The person who had the suburban was cheating on his fiance' with my ex who was supposedly her best friend...(so he got his too)
So all in all I guess it was a good experience...
Moral - If you want to get things done that you dream about doing and don't have the guts. Take some welbutrin drink some alky... You'll go freaking nuts and do what ever...and not remember it...

well, if you mixed it with dexedrine...
see, they *really* don't like to tell you this, but wellbutrin (and tranylcypromine, and some other common antidepressants) are very similar to amphetamines.
crystal is N-methyl-1-phenyl-2-aminopropane.
wellbutrin is N-tert-butyl-1-m-chlorophenyl-2-aminopropanone. essentially, it's very closely related to methcathinone. even more importantly, the differences aren't too extreme. it's obviously less abusable, but it is still an amphetamine, and unfortunately i can easily see wellbutrin causing psychosis if it was mixed with another amphetamine.

That's what my doctor perscribed to me!?! At the time I had no Idea of what kind of drug interaction there would be...
I talked to a few doctors later and they all agreed that dex+wel is a bad mix...
Later Doing some of my own research had the same findings...
BTW I had been taking 10mg of time release Dex for about a year at that point and had no negative effects...
1 day combining the two and boom...
I do believe that my doctor should have been liable for making suck a bad call....

odd that you went through that ordeal, i think wellbutrin's fucked for a similar reason...i'm too lazy right now to get into a lot of detail but basically i was put on the shit for like a week and a half or so, i noticed a dramatic shift in my personality (less negativity, didn't tend to dwell as much on worrisome issues)...i don't normally like synthetic shifts in my way of feeling but it wasn't as bad as previous antidepressants i'd tried...anyway to make a long story short late one night at school i was typing a paper and i lost it on the hard drive. this paper had great weight on my final english grade so i was like "fuck," but i wasn't reacting nearly as much as i thought i normally would if i wasn't on the meds...within a few minutes i was questioning the stranger i had become from taking this medication, i flipped and punched myself in the face for about twenty minutes, two black eyes and i had to tell a whole lot of untruths the next day...

It's very clear in ALL documentation that you are NOT supposed to drink with Wellbutrin, hell, there is even a sticker on the bottle... you had 2 glasses of wine and 4 beers, with a drug that is not supposed to be taken with any alcohol.. can't blame this on the drug..
Personally I think it's a great drug, the only one so far that has helped - and I have tried EVERY SSRI, TAD, and some of the weird ones.. but you DO have to be on the drug for a period of about 2 weeks before you begin to notice ANY difference..
