I'm wondering about the possibility of combining bupropion with lisdexamfetamine. Heres the theory:
lisdexamfetamineis metabolized into dextroamphetamine in your body, which increases dopamine levels in your brain. Bupropion is a DNRI and will keep the released dopamine in your brain from being reuptaken, therefor increasing dopamine levels even more.
Bupropion has a metabolite, hydroxybupropion, which is a pretty significant CYP2D6 inhibitor (which i'm fairly sure is one of the major metabolic pathways of dextroamphetamine), which would mean, in theory, that it would take your body longer to metabolize the dextroamphetamine.
Basically, higher, longer, while having to use less lisdexamfetamine.
The flip side:
Bupropion is said to have somewhat of a stimulant effect all its own, which may lead to undesirably high blood pressure.
There is an increased risk or seizures when combining these drugs. However, I have never had a seizure and have no history of epilepsy in my family.
I am a 180 pound, healthy, 19 year old male. My current plan is to start taking 150mg of Wellbutrin twice a day for three or four days and then to take a 15mg dose of Vyvanse. I'm hoping that because Vyvanse has to be metabolized in order to become active, any problems will show up gradually. I will of course have a sober sitter who can drive me to the hospital to get me pumped full of benzos if need be. If this is successful, I will start slowly working my Vyvanse dosage up over subsequest attempts and document the effects and cost / benefit of this combo
But before I attempt this, I wanted to ask for the advice of my fellow bluelighters. Does anyone strongly recommended against this experiment, and if so, why?
I am very open to your opinions, thanks in advance guys
