enlighten me, plz. are you supposed to abstain from everything (yom kippur is when you fast, correct?) starting at sundown or do you have to abstain from everything the entire day? IIRC, jewish holidays don't start until sundown so that leaves you 5 hrs to get completely trashed! ;)

 
Pretty much...I'm supposed to abstain for 25 hours from food and drink, and I'm going to avoid smoking cigarettes, too.

And I live in Jerzy, unfortunately currently. So right now I'm at the point where I have to stuff my face beforehand in about half an hour.

The NORML branches here are actually really well organized and highly motivated. They have a history of getting laws/ordinances changed on a city level. Its not a big smokeout or blatant violation of the law somehow. They really try and it shows.

Come out if you're in the area! Its got everything from reggae & jam bands to psytrance.
 
yea, i didn't think it was like a giant smokeout or anything but it would be nice if we had some NORML sponsored events here in cali (not that we really need them since we are pretty liberal when it comes to marijuana).

it does seem like good times, i just want to listen to some good tunes and dance (and take a few tokes here and there ;)).

i'm going to sit around in my PJs until i feel like getting in the shower. tomorrow, i'm off to a club to celebrate my best friend's bday. i'm not much of the clubbing type but she is my best friend so of course, i'll gladly do anything for her.

Good. I'm going to have extra fun just to bump the jealousy up a notch. I was only going to have a set amount of fun before, but now, the sky's the limit.

I hate clubs.

Whenever I think "club" the cheesiest of all house beats starts playing in my head... UNTz, UNTz UNTz SHAKE THAT THANG UNTz UNTz UNTz, etc... and I imagine a bunch of skeevy old dudes in shirts with flames on the front and buttons shaped like dice hitting on 18 yr olds.

maybe I had a couple early negative experiences that tainted my views though.

I may go to a sorta-club but like 80% concert venue to see The Crystal Method soon though. kinda iffy. i hear their DJ sets aren't the best, the live ones are better. if its cheap i guess i dont care.
 
have all the fun you want, as long as i get pictures :p

they play a lot of rap/hip-hop crap here. i'm not a fan but when i'm drunk enough, it doesn't really matter. if it were up to me, we'd be dancing to psytrance in a forest or on the beach ;)
