Weird MXE reaction: anhedonia?

So this weekend I procured some MXE (reagent test verified). So I tried maybe 40 milligrams Friday afternoon, got a mellow dissociative buzz going, a nice and enjoyable effect, and went to get some dinner. Anyway, that night I dosed up to an additional 70 or so milligrams, and that was pretty fun as I dosed little by little. By the time I went out to a show, I was extremely dissociated, and then all of the sudden I simply wasn't happy. I didn't feel bad, I just didn't feel the urge to dance, socialize, or anything really. I went home and layed on my bed until I slept. I had had a pretty exhausting week, and had to use amphetamine a lot to stay up and get work done, so I guess it could have had something to do with that... but it still seems strange, because I've always really enjoyed DXM no matter the circumstances (except when I took it three nights in a row, which come to think of it, was pretty similar to this by the third night). This may have been the first time I've done MXE, since something that I took in the past that I was told was MXE I'm not so sure about anymore, and I'm just hoping that this isn't something that will always happen to me with this chemical.
So my question is this: Has anyone experienced an anhedonic effect like this with MXE before? Could it have been an effect of my dosing earlier in the day? Is there anything I can do to avoid it?

Could it be that you just don't find high doses of mxe very enjoyable?

I have the opposite reaction to mxe. For me it doesn't get enjoyable unless I consume high doses.

I've spent a number of dissociated nights lying around not feeling up to doing anything, or feeling any emotion at all (aside perhaps some confusion). It's nothing unusual.

Try giving yourself longer breaks between uses and see if that helps.

Ah alright that makes me a bit more hopeful. Is this effect dose-dependent for you?

IME it's most likely to happen when I take a good size dose (aiming for a hole or near hole) and come up short of the mark. I think both physical and psychological tolerance have something to do with it. Combo-ing with other drugs can help stave it off, though I wouldn't rely on this very frequently.

Yeah that sounds about right, I was definitely just short of the hole... but I hadn't taken a dissociative for a week beforehand, and not for months before that though so I don't think it's tolerance related. Thanks for your help, I'll experiment further when I have time.
