weird meth

I've noticed recently a few postings relating to a weird powder meth that some may feel looks or tastes cokey.
I am offering my experiences with this “neo-crank” to perhaps help answer some questions some may have about it.
A few months ago I noticed this substance that had been circulating around my area as “crank”. This substance is an off-white to brownish oily powder that resembled a lumpy coke.
I was leery of it at first, being spoiled on crystal shards, but decided to do the right thing and give it a go.
When insufflated the stinging sensation was agreed to be far worse than methamp. It gave you a stimulation effect, lasted for around 6 hours if you did not upkeep your high, and left you mentally disoriented. It was far better to smoke, and smelled vaguely bittersweet.
I have used methcathinone before, and couldn’t help but notice quite a few striking similarities. It smelled sweetish, was in a coke-like powder format, smoked very well, and pretty much left you wide eyed ‘n’ brain fried.
A friend of mine had to take a drug test, and tested positive for methamphetamine. I suspected a methcat/methamp mixture. Someone could possibly be using the cheaper cat to cut the more valuable amp? I found out that one gram of this “crank” would wash out to ¼ - ½ gram of methamp.
I started inquiring about what process had been used to make this batch of “crank,” and heard that it was created using a process requiring anhydrous ammonia. If anyone has any experience with the results of that process, I would greatly appreciate descriptions of how the final product looked.
I had also heard that it was a methamp/methcat blend, but being unable to test for methcat…
I'd dig it if anyone else could post their experiences with this, especially if they have also used methcathinone. For the comparison aspect.

Brownish, oily, = to much acid(ph below 5) and/or moisture in the process of making meth hcl from meth oil(freebase)

Its called unreacted Ephedrine/pseudoephedrine.

It sounds like a meth/half-reacted eph./un-reacted eph. mixture made by a half assed wanna be "cook" who learned his chemistry from methinfo dot blowyourself dot whatever.

I have no experience in cooking meth but the final product from "the anhydrous ammonia process" would be glass shards. Take you 1/4 (way to small to do this but if you have a few grams it will work much better) gram you recovered after your wash toss into a small glass of everclear put into the top of your closet, come back in a few days a look at whats left, wash 1 more time a you will have shards from crank.

That shit is poison, clean your dope or stick with the shards. Meth is tastless and odorless, anything you smell or taste is not meth. Remember this when you are smoking shit. If you do drugs, try and do the cleanest drugs can find. I know none of this is the Foutain of Youth but you should try and take care of your body the best way you can. This is a perfect example of people having to do crap drugs made by Freddy Bob farm boy brought on by the War on Drugs. You want to help the people regulate the dope like alcohol and give them clean drugs at a price that put dealers out of business.
Bro this is just my 2cents, I would throw the shit away. Take my advice however you want, Im not going to list my experience with meth and just leave it at that.

out of curiosity, have you run across this before?
it seems to wrack the ol' brain-a-roo much like cat did, and i did read a report thingy on erowid mentioning cat as a possible good cut for meth
frankly, knowing the kids, probably just a shitty shitty cook.
frankly, shards are jiggy, i dig those, i know those well.
i also know some wanky cats who dug this for the price, i tried it maybe 2 or 3 times.
ive just seen a few posts that seem to describe that crank, hoped to shed some light on it

swim says its half powder half "rock" and all yellow.......swim never had crank or powder meth whatever u wanna call it.....but this shit just looks nasty.
anyway......when swim first brought it home she tried a tiny bump to test it out and damn it stung!! definetly way worse than normal crystal because swim only took a tiny bit and her nose was on fire!
a few hours later, swim being the junkie that she is.....decides to fix up a rig. she dissolved it with a bit of saline (the powder part mind u...not the rock...=/) and there seemed to be a bit of yellow sandy things that stayed at the bottom and wouldnt dissolve...swim said "fuckit!" and filtered what she could get and slammed it!
not much difference from meth there... :D

#1 it burned really brownish/yellowish (although meth does this sometimes also)

Where I'm from, 'crank', which is pretty much exactly how you're describing it, is a powdered mixture of low quality meth (with probably some unreacted ephedrine in it) cut 25-80% with an adultrant whose only two qualities are that it a. vaporizes cleanly (ie no residue) and b. vaportizes at a lower temperature than meth.
This meth 'product' is a pain in the ass. The only way I know of to 'safely' use it is to smoke it. When you smoke it, and it burns your throat, you will have to vaporize the adultrants before you can smoke the meth. The best way I know of to seperate it (er.. the best 'on the fly' way. The everclear way is much better, but takes two days. Who wants to wait a few days to do their shit?) is to heat it very gently, until it just begins to smoke. Roll yer crack pipe side to side, and blow gently through the end of the crack pipe. I've found that keeping your lips about 3 inches away from the pipe works best. You will notice that a -shitload- of smoke comes out. Let the liquid recrystalize, and watch it. If it is meth, then it will crystalize pretty slowly. If it is a common adultrant that I know of, it will be almost instantaneous. In the case that it is still badly adultrated, repeat the process.
Once it 'cracks back' slowly, you are ready to go. I would suggest hitting it lightly at first, to make sure you got all the crap out. You may notice that it still tastes a little .. funny. This is what you get for buying shitty speed. Also, i've found that if you smoke this crap all night, your thoat will hurt like fucking hell the next day. So you may want to think twice about going on a bender with this crap.
Also, never buy anything from this person again. They will probably rip you off.

I agree that it sounds like meth with unreacted ephedrine. I've had stuff like this myself and it fits your description well.
