Weird looking shrooms

From Wikipedia (picture of Agrocybes):

I scraped at the "mold" with an exacto knife. I sliced off a very thin layer off the top, and there is no mold at all except for the thinnest layer of the surface. These cannot be eaten.

Hello forum. I don't post here often but I have a question. I am looking at some shrooms that are really hasty looking. They are really molding and just disgusting looking, far more so than usual. I am having a hard time picturing myself eating these. They seem to be so covered in mold that I worry we will get sick from it. They seem like they were not dried / stored properly and are still damp. They seem like they were just festering damp in the in baggies for who knows how long.

Is this unusual? Should I be worried? Should we dry them in the microwave? Even then, they will still be covered in this nasty blue mold. I am not a shrooms noob, so please don't anyone respond with comments such as "Of course they are nasty and moldy, that's what they are supposed to look like." These just look especially nasty and unappealing.

I read the forum guidelines and It didn't say anything about not posting a link to a picture, but I don't want to do that until someone says that is acceptable in this forum.

Thanks.

when in doubt, throw it out ;)

dude i would probably eat some of the better looking ones and then slice of the blue where its terrible. but then again im not the best at harm reduction

there are like 100 different species of Agrocybe. They just look like some i picked and dried once (Agrocybe praecox). Environmental conditions can cause significant variance in color. If they are psilocybe they will have certain traits - its very hard to ID dried mushrooms 100% though. A case of mistaken identity (or contaminants) followed by ingestion could cause significant illness - followed by death in rare cases.

There are expert mycologists on other boards that will gladly interact with you. I suggest you pursue their opinions on your specimen.

Can you clarify what that means please?
typo on my part... sorry folks!
i meant "blue chalk for a line snapper." just google chalk line and you will see what i am talking about. its a tool for making lines for construction and it uses this blue chalk.
