Weird dreams from excessive benzo use?

Right, so I've been getting 2mg Xanax bars really cheap and therefore have been indulging in them quite a bit over the last week or two. One thing I've noticed, though, is that I dream normally during the night time, but after I wake up I have no desire to get up and just want to go back to sleep. During this period of about 2-3 hours, I'll typically have dreams where I get up out of bed and go about my daily activities, however after 5-10 minutes or so I'll wake up, confused about the fact that none of what I just did happened. I can keep going in and out of these trances for hours until something actually motivates me to actually get out of bed. A friend of mine who also has been using the benzos alot recently has noticed the same thing happening to him. Has anyone else experienced this?

On a side note: I take diphenhydramine daily in doses from 25-100mg, typically at night time for use as a potentiator for whatever downers I take (lately Xanax and weed). I'm positive that this contributes heavily since I experience a lot of sub-delerium when nodding off or right before sleeping. Things like hearing doors slam, voices right next to me, and strange whizzing noises. I've never gone over 200mg before because I find it gets very uncomfortable after 100mg, but it's a fantastic sleep aid and cheap high. Typically the dream hallucinations I mentioned originally occur many hours after taking the DPH (since the Xanax lasts a bit longer).

Would love to hear anyone's experience or opinions on this subject, I find it quite intriguing. :)

Benzos when used in excessive amounts can definatly cause symptoms like what you describe at least in my own experience. I have had sleep paralysis on several occasions abusing this stuff and although it can be somewhat intriguing it can also be just as terrifying and a trigger of anxiety, which really sucks especially when all you want to do is sleep but cannot. Benzos are great when used correctly but please be very careful if you are going to continue abusing it. The withdrawal is hell and the consequences are not worth it.

I have some fond memories of abusing benadryl when I was 13, several times which were combined with k-pins or xanax that resemble what you're describing. There were times after taking benadryl I would leave my house making my way through the clouds to cross the road, talking to my friends(who wern't there) that I was absolutely sure I was dreaming. When dreaming at home or school about my science teacher telling me to take a test in her room during lunch but after I take the test and am heading to lunch she sees me in the hall and says "you better get your butt up there and take that test".8(

You have these now? What happens when you are off them? I know I have terrible nightmares when withdrawaling from a benzo so I want to warn you that this could just turn on you like it did me.....I have had trances like you explain but I wasn't on anything.......Medications just do that to some people......Anti-Depressants make me dream like crazy psychopathic dreams and man I wished I didn't have to take medication but, i do.
