when im high my eyes have trouble focusing on things. sometimes i'll get double vision when i try to read the computer screen. everything looks blurry and i have to get closer to the screen to make out what the text says. also i get extremely sensitive to light. does this happen to anyone else or are my eyes going bad?
 
Nope I would not worry. This happens to me when I smoke a lot of vaporizer or just get super stoned. It has to do with the decrease in intraocular pressure that cannabis causes plus the sedative effects. My eyes go double vision easier and yes, also more sensitive to light. My vision will go back to normal as I come down. This is an effect of cannabis that not everyone experiences, but it happens to a good amount of people.
 
Hmm, even though Outta Pocket's response still seems pretty solid, do you get headaches when you read/ spend too much time on the computer? Weird focusing things that seemed to be isolated events that I didn't take seriously ended up meaning that I needed reading glasses (with a plus prescription). If it happens in absolutely no other contexts then maybe it's the weed, but I would make sure of this...it took me a while to notice that my distance vision wasn't as sharp (I already needed reading glasses) and going to the optometrist meant I needed some minor vision correction, not that I thought it was in my head and would only happen if I was high/tired/etc.

Just something to think about...and, Outta Pocket's explanation also fits with the whole weed helping glaucoma thing, which is pretty well researched.
 
I get similar effects, except my eyes dont really get double vision. I do get an increase sensitivity to light and my eyes do get very blurry but I can focus them if i put effort to it. As long as these effects happen after you smoke and not any other time then you dont have anything to worry about.
 
my eyesight's gotten gradually worse over the past 4 or 5 years. smoking weed helped alleviate the headaches associated with the extra strain, and made me not really give a fuck if i had to squint to see certain things.

if i'd gotten some kind of contacts or glasses when it first started happening i wouldn't have these permanent glasses that i'm supposed to wear all the time now.




get it checked out, dude, eyesight's pretty important.
 
it used to only happen when i smoked or got really fucked up. now its starting to happen when im sober too. i thought it was just a byproduct of the alcohol, pot, and whatever else i got into. today i woke up, smoked a few bowls(my day off..) and now i can't really focus on anything. everything is blurry and hard to make out. the other day at work i had trouble counting rows on the blueprints because my eyes wouldn't focus. sucks, guess i have to go to the optometrist.. thanks for the advice guys.
