hey guys! i'm not a regular on this forum but i thought i would post this project, which is basically a spoken word/performance thing i made: 817
i'm looking for general feedback.

also, would anyone be interested in recording themselves reading a poem, and then i could manipulate the audio, add cello, etc? let me know (i guess by pm).

I love the 817 piece, the way it combines cello, poetry, cracks of sound... It's a warp of life, like a view through rain running down a window.

Is there any chance you can post the text of the piece?

Please take this constructively, I mean it so: As a producer of music, I couldn't get past the quality of the vocal recording (I'm guessing it's recorded on a computer mic, is it?) and the general poor mixing (I do understand that it is really really hard to get right!) to be able to enjoy the piece for what it is. Also, the echo effects are too "wet" and combined with the poor recording quality, I couldn't make out a lot of the words, it was sort of an effort to listen to - and this is on studio monitor speakers. I get that it's stylistically supposed to be kind of "lo-fi" but I think it detracts from what could be a really moving piece of sound art. Keep at it!

The piece itself shows great potential and I personally really really dig the cello as an instrument and you play beautifully

Actually I was going to comment on the quality of the recording, but you can never be sure with crappy speakers like the ones I have!
