I was chatting to a friend who was saying that when ever you click/pop your joints this is the body's way of correcting itself.

He says moving your head in a circular motion until your neck clicks aligns your spine straight, also moving the shoulders until they click and doing circles with each leg up to your chest with your legs makes your posture better.

I just want to know what you lot think as I know it makes sense logically but im skeptical and can some people state some other good ways to improve your posture. cheers.

That doesn't sound right to me. Moving certain parts of your body in a circular motion shouldn't necessarily make things click. It might in some people (if I rotate either of my ankles they'll click), but I don't understand your friends logic or how circular motions would somehow re-align someone/give them better posture.

It's on the front page of Healthy Living, but here's the link to the Bluelight thread on the Tibetan Rites. I've mentioned this within that thread, but those exercises seem to give me better posture. They're primarily stretches that focus on the lower back/back and I feel like I stand straighter and take in air easier the more often I do them.

Well, for a start it's bad for your neck to be doing circular motions. You should be rolling your head half way each side, the whole way is damaging and poor for stretching.

k thanks for clearing that up guys, i thought my mate was chatting waffle.

Going to give that tibetan rites a go

nice one for the tibetan rites - they're a mixture of yoga, isotonics and isometrics.

I would also suggest comparing your posture to random dudes who walk down the street - use them to remind yourself that your posture should be walking upright and tall!

Wear a backpack - that helps with posture, as does doing yoga for a while.

Pilates does wonders for posture,
Since i've been doing windsor pilates the whole way I hold my back is different, more comfortable.
