Watermelon and vodka :)

Well, I got the watermelon and the vodka. I have heard about this thing where you can get the watermelon to absorb the vodka and its lots of fun. Has anyone done this before? Any tips?
Do you just cut a hole in the top, and pour the vodka in? How long do it let it sit for? How much Vodka should I use? ... any help would be great! should be fun for the party tomorrow!!

well the easy way would be to have gottin a 'melothat still had a good bit of the VINE still attached,then ya could have just stuck the vine in the vodka and let it sit for a good while...it would just suck the vodka right up and BAM vodka soaked 'melon..
but i doubt the vine is on yer 'melon so your best bet is to cut a hole the sizr of the mouth part of the bottle(a little smaller would prob work better i guess)..then just slide the 'melon on to the bottle.....flip it so the bottle is in the AIR and prop it against a wall or put somthin around it so it wont tip over!
this should work,I HAVE ALWAYS DONE IT THE OTHER WAY THOUGH,ihave only heard of this method..so best of luck

in my experience this is kind of a waste.....
you have to let it sit a really long time and its hard to get the vodka evenly dispersed. Like one bite tastes like watermelon and the next is just a shot....... might as well save some time and futile effort and just drink the shit.

Most of these people who replied either have never done it before or did it wrong because its worth trying at least once. It can be fun, especially if you are sharing it with your girlfriend or something. Cut a whole in the melon wide enough to fit the neck of the bottle into it. Also cut into the melon when you do this so that there is a little bit of empty space for you to pour into. The vodka doesn't instantly absorb so you need a little space inside the melon for it to sit. Try 1.5L (a handle), it should all absorb into it. It might not taste that great but it is still easy to devour the melon and get sloshed. Be careful though, you might end up passed out in the bathtub with a pile of watermelon seeds in front of you (if you eat the seeds). And no, I don't pass out in bathtubs...

thats why you USE THE VINE METHOD,i guess it wouldnt get evennly dispersed if ya just cut a hole and let it sit,when you put the vine in it sucks it up like it would water and disperses it throughout the 'melon...K!

cut a hole in the melon just big enough to put a funnel in. put the funnel in and pour in the vodka, top up as and when needed.

Just cut a hole on the top of the mellon the size of the hole on the bottle of vodka. Then push the open vodka into the watermellon so the bottle is upside down. Make sure you have the bottle against something sturdy so it doesn't tip over. From time to time your gonna have to shake the bottle back & forth so more of the vodka can absorbe into the mellon. Your best bet is to let it sit over night then put the mellon in the fridge so it's nice & cold. It's some good kick ass shit. I wouldn't waste your money on really expensive vodka though. Buy the mid-priced shit...
