Washing Pills

The washing amphetamine thread got me thinking about washing pills in general. I've done an extensive search in a number of the forums but only found vague reference to washing the binders out of a pill.
So I guess my question is can this be done (ie remove the binders of a pill to be left with active subtance and in the case MDxx) and if so how is it done.

In the interests of harm minimisation, it could be very worthwhile...

Seems like a complicated way to be able to snort your pills, me personally i'd eat the pills and but MDMA powder to snort. Also if it was a combination pill, say K & MD or MD & S then would the washin process filter out any of these inferior yet still active substances?

I guess my question comes from the availability of pills being moreso than powder from time to time.
