Was this really Heroin?

I bought something that supposedly was heroin from a street dealer in Thailand at a very very cheap price. White snortable powder, almost no chunks. I am an opiate virgin, so I am at a loss.
I got home, set up a VERY small line and snorted it. Burning sensation. 15 minutes later, I begin to feel very sedated. Head swimming, could barely keep my eyes open. Could hardly stand up without falling down. Heavy sedation. Not very comfortable, even though there was some weak sense of wellbeing. No euphoria at all. After 30-40 min the nausea set in. I didnt puke, but it wasnt enjoyable. After that I slept for 12 hours or something.
I know that some opiate virgins experience nausea and discomfort the first time, but this was ridiculous. Is it really possible that it could have been H?
My theory: maybe the dealer chopped some strong benzo-type drug and mixed it with a little H?
My Q> should I really experiment with it again, at a smaller dosage? Or is there no way this could be H?

my first time i thought this is shit i dont feel anything as i was sitting on the phone and suddenly a rush of words flew out and i was swimming in a very very nice place... until i tried to stand up... and then puked...
the first few times after that i used to do it when i was getting in the shower because i was just sick of having to run to the bathroom it would just hit me as i was washing, which in itself was a cool feeling with the water hitting me, and if booted not a problem- built in clean up.
h is a downer, it will sedate you, you will feel lethergic, slight burning in the nose and a nice drip down the throat...
sunds like you got soemthing that had a bit of smack in it, maybe... or at least an optiate... but seems like it was cut with something else.
ive never seen anyone sleep that long from a small dose, or be as sedated as you seem to say you were
if you have some more and you want to chance it, try another line... it might just be the first time getting used to the drug period
if it happens again id look for some better shit

Sir Real, that was almost undoubtedly heroin.
Typically heroin even in small doses is too much for an opiate virgin.
A few months ago some friends of mine got a hold of some of the heroin I was shooting. They snorted tiny bumps that were merely a fraction of what I was shooting and all of them experienced the same symptoms you did, except there were also vomitting over the course of several hours.
I don't know anyone that's tried heroin the first time without a tolerance and enjoyed it.

Actually Soviet, I wouldn't say no one likes H the first time. I enjoyed my first time with H immensely, and it was my first opioid experience outside of a couple Vicodin's -- I had no tolerance whatsoever. Same for two of my friends. The third, however, had an experience quite similar to Sir Real's -- sedation, nausea, no euphoria. So it varies...

yup, sounds like probably dope to me. actually it sounds a lot like my first time, the lack of euphoria also suprised me, but it is definitely worth trying again.
