Wars, Invasions, & Imperialism Thread v. Ukraine & Russia

Not open for further replies.

Here's a long thread of videos of what appears to be Ukranians torturing other Ukrainians. Twitter may make it where you need an account to see them, so if interested then look at the thread before that happens, or the account gets suspended.

whats so bad thats happening in those videos?

that whole thread is pro-moscow propaganda

how does anybody know what those ppl did? maybe they were trying to rape somebody

a few lashes in the ass while you're shrink wrapped to a pole might be appropriate

there's barely any type of law in a war torn country - so this is what ends up happening

Imo, doing that stuff to people looking for food and people who refuse to pick up a gun to go fight is pretty bad. It mentions looters, and I don't feel bad for them, looters get what they get. Maybe some of them are actual criminals, idk, that's why I said "what appears to be". I read a few other similar claims. Like SS said above, I doubt we get anything about it in the legacy media, we'll see tho.

Too bad Twitter made a lot of the explosion videos restricted now so people have to log in to see them. Maybe I'll open a Telegram account so I can get more explosion videos. Some of them were pretty good, like the tank driving over a mine. There's still a few good ones that slip through Twitters filter tho.

Indeed. Russia started this war, and if a foreign power invaded my country, killed my family, and I found people supplying them intelligence, well I'd be pretty mad. That seems pretty tame compared to blowing up schools and hospitals. We don't even know the context.

It was confirmed by Pentagon...

CNN US officials confirm Russia has used hypersonic missiles against Ukraine

"US officials confirmed to CNN that Russia launched hypersonic missiles against Ukraine last week, the first known use of such missiles in combat. The US was able to track the launches in real time, the sources said.

The launches were likely intended to test the weapons and send a message to the West about Russian capabilities, multiple sources told CNN."

I dont have energy to find more credible sources. Sorry... ✌️
Would you trust the pentagon on this?
They are trying to secure more money from the US government ... to be spent on developing hypersonic missiles ...

This is something I am always aware of. I never saw earth from space and yet I believe it is a sphere. I never saw the whole of Europe and yet I still believe the maps. I dont remember my birth and I believe that one woman is my mother.

We all essentially believe - we don't know. But in a situation like this I tend to believe the sources that I decide are most trustworthy. So if Putin says his army fired that missile and Pentagon confirms it I will believe that it is real.

On the other hand - did Pentagon colaborate with Russia, UK and France to create this war and info that I see is pure propaganda - I think is less likely but possibility is not zero. I don't know what exactly happened in the battlefields of the war that was tearing up the country I live in. I don't know why exactly the war I lived through was started and who is war criminal and did the genocide in Srebrenica actually happened - but I go on best available info and my experience.

The one thing I know (or better say "strongly believe") is that Biden, Macron and Putin are more closely tied than Biden and middle class USA citizen or Puyin and Russian citizens. I know I am manipulated and there are mass psy ops going on whole time but I have to settle on something.

Otherwise we go into question of reality and metaphysics very soon. Cause who is this "I" that speaks, is it real or just a lie? Does I exist or is it a twist of The Game that plays through all Is and all that is? Is real only a deal that made a collusion with delusion? Who knows? I? I dont know but this is all a part of the show.

Hope I answered your question. ..

The main gripe I have with the media is that they focus only on what Russia is doing, which is right when it is current, but before this there was barely zip about what America did to Afghanistan six months ago. Displaced people don't die immediately and needn't die at all if they get help, so I think the situation there, where people, women, lost their livelihoods overnight and became only entitled to non-human rights that you would give to a family pet is still worsening, but the US did it, so no publicity after the initial few days. Then there is the ridiculous thought that America would be better buying oil from Saudi, not Russia, on humanitarian grounds? I'm not sure Yemen would agree.
I'm not condoning Russias actions in any way. I don't believe they have a valid self defense argument for what they are doing, The millions displaced from Ukraine were not threatening to bomb Russia out of existance, most wouldn't normally care about politics, they want secure homes and jobs so they can raise their families in peace, noone can honestly claim they deserve this.

In Europe and North America few people deliver all the "news" (actually propaganda). They portray everything accordingly. There are no news only propaganda.
Even if you take a supposedly impartial broadcaster like the BBC in the UK who like to claim balanced reporting, the way the 'news' is actually edited and curated it can only ever be be propaganda. How can it not? They have a very short segment of time to condense information and they will have to omit things by default, or pay them lip service only to later claim they did talk actually cover such a point. Then there's the actual editing.. what images are shown, what order and after/during what voice over, and how is the voice narrative constructed? Very subtle zoom shots to reinforce an emotional moment. Hanging on a particular image. Focusing. Etc. Etc.

Everything is crafted for affect. Those in the business know the tricks, and even if they try to be impartial they still have to make editorial decisions that betray their bias and allegiances.

I'm amazed anyone still trusts the BBC, given they knew about Jimmy Saville for years and did absolutely nothing about it.

It's also the way the Western media presents things.
For example when Putin was talking about Nazis in Ukraine, it was spun like "Yeah but Putin says that, so who can trust him? We never saw any Nazis". He was talking about Biolabs too, he should know, since he was KGB and the USSR built these, originally, again "Yeah but Putin says that, so it's obviously Propaganda" (until it turned into the nigh-Goebbels version "PUTIN WANTS TO USE BIOWEAPONS!")
Both of these things turned out to be true, but notice how it doesn't give Putin more credibility, from a media standpoint.

They make it pretty smart like that. Discredit anything that comes from the Russian side, and have your viewers discredit it from the get-go, so they never double/triple-check for the truth. This way you can have any information you want be "of the enemy", and therefore invalid.

The other thing is the endless "This is how you spot fake videos" often before or after showing fake material (BILD was hardcore here, srsly they showed a fucking explosion from two years ago in China on live TV claiming it was a Russian bomb in Ukraine(around day 4 of the invasion) and thought no one would realize)
By making yourself the "reliable one" that "uncovers" fake news, you will easily have the numbers on your side, because you're already "working through the bullshit to uncover the truth", in theory.

It's a very smart strategy, gotta give Western media that. As good as the Wochenschau, maybe even better,
given that information is so easily acquirable today. Anyone could just check again, and again, but they don't. That is fucking fascinating, and well orchestrated.

I understand how it works in the US, because it's so simple. You got 2 factions, red and blue, both have their own news stations, tell you the other one is a liar, and then tell you the same thing from 2 different perspectives, national and global. But how so much of EU is just buying into this just baffles me, I know we usually have 10 different news stations that all say the same fucking thing, but still, I thought most people would at least dig a little deeper.

If there's one thing the UK is a world leader in, besides financial corruption, then it certainly is propaganda. It's easy to spot and dissect the guff in the USA, almost to the point of it being comically obvious and kindergarten level in its sophistication because of that red vs blue paradigm. But our stuff is sneaky, sophisticated, drawing on expert input from the field of psychology - its main weakness is the politicians who are so fucking useless they give the game away just by opening their mouths.

I think we're too arrogant to admit we're being conned. We love the patronizing air of intellectual superiority that our establishment puts forward.
