Warning issued over cannabis adulterated with glass beads

Some weed I had a few months back was all sand like when abit got in my mouth, gritty! One of many reasons why i quit smoking green, quality varies too much, jus feel ripped off half the time.

Cigarettes aren't prohibited, and that doesn't stop the manufacturers putting all sorts of shit in the tobacco or the papers!!


You just get some very bad dudes in any industry where there's a large profit to be made. Hell, Chicken is legal but the processors are allowed to add water to the carcass.

It's what happens when you hand over responsibility to mass producers.

Best to be self sufficient.

We're not spraying the weed with paint... goddamn! Its just the glass beads that they mix with the paint.

And the oils that naturally occur in the plants are still harmful. It would be much worse to smoke any sort of oil than to smoke glass beads, which aren't combustible.

Sounds like bullshit to me. Glass beads? Come on. They are trying to spread rumors about good weed covered with trichomes. Although, I may be wrong and this grit weed may be as huge a menace as all of that acid, crack, heroin, pcp and paraquat laced weed floating around.

acid? i really doubt u will find weed that is laced with d-lysergic diethylamide. and i dont mean a friend telling you "whoa i feel like im tripping, theres acid in this weed dude".

Also, im sure if you guys get your people you know and trust, preferably a good friend, this shit will not happen. i think you will probably know something is wrong when you are inhaling burning glass in ur bowl. and whats the fucking point? cant they use oregano or something to beef up the weight? this is the main fact that makes u think this article might all be bullshit..but im sure it has happened somewhere, to someone

Sorry, I forgot to say you have to enlarge it. It should be very clear if you know how weed looks, as it's a pretty good quality pic.
They look like irregular shaped yellow chunks. No taste, not hard, supposedly harmless organic material that absorbs moisture but gives off black smoke when you seperate it and burn it.

AFAIK, every export Dutch weed can be cut up to 25% in weight with it.

Well it's been around for 2 years now and still shows up now and then. Before that, import Dutch weed often used to be sold slightly to medium wet(up to 20% weight in water that shouldn't be there), now they take really wet weed, add the crystals which absorbs the moisture in the weed so the weed crumbles like it's dry, but it's still far less in volume.
 
Shows the sort of people we give our money too, they have no regard for anyone or anything. Think I might go back to soapbar, its far more cleaner ;)
 
Did you guys even read the article? The glass beads are harmless. Glass doesn't burn up or get in smoke.

apparently there is also an adhesive used to get the glass to stick to the bud...
 
I've heard of Silca Gel being crushed and used. Also an industrial spray that gives windows the 'frosted' look. Contaminated is contaminated. No one knows what half the stuff in these things will do to a human as no one have ever thought people would be stupid enough to smoke it.

this is not news to me....its been occuring in beasters/commercial dank for the last two years or so here in the southeast, USA.

not sure it was glass beads but they have been using various things to make shitty batches look more crystalized for years now!

usually if its like that, we swap em back.

lol mate this is far from bullshit, before christmas nearly every bag of weed i saw was gritty as shit, even larger bags (bars etc).

do you mean he's angry that other drugs aren't legal when alcohol is, or that he feels alcohol shouldn't be allowed? it came off as having a problem with alcohol being available. All drugs should be available. Adults should be able to choose for themselves.

all substances should be legal, but they are not. so because of that simple fact, it just doesnt make sense that alcohol is legal while much safer drugs are not.

The contaminated Class C drug - known as 'grit weed' - has seen users taken ill overnight in the south of England and officers fear it may have arrived in Lancashire.

Complaints of sore throats, chesty coughs and mouth ulcers have been made by those who smoke the drug contaminated with the industrial etching spray used for glass frosting.

Detective Superintendent Dave Brian, Head of SOCU, said: "Although cannabis is an illegal drug we do have a duty of care to warn users that contaminated cannabis is in circulation nationally.

"It has become clear there is a potential danger which may be of great significance for the health of the user."

The glass beads are not always visible to the naked eye but can be detected by rubbing contaminated leaves together as the residue will feel gritty.
