I’d love you and me and a cup of herbal tea
but only in my dreams, and so here is me
with a cup of iced tea and a distant memory.
Truth and lies are just dust in our eyes;
you’re more than you seem, you’re all that I need.
Moral’s new, story’s old; just watch as it unfolds:
Dreams that never got off the ground.
Thoughts that can’t escape my head.
Can’t concentrate or motivate myself
or put my delusions up on the shelf --
so, dear Alia, was it all an illusion?
I left the coffee house in quite a bit of confusion,
my world’s one of torment and delusion,
and I need a trip to a warm seclusion.
So where are you?
