Want to feel more normal? Opiates = Lowetestosterone -> HCG Injections (read on...)

Most of us know the low sex drive that comes along with opiates. We also know that once we kick 'em we do a 180 (at least a lot of us do). Here's one that hit my world recently:

I went to a naturopath who did a bunch of blood work and urine tests. Resulted in low testosterone and high serotonin. I received the seratonin news weeks before the hormone test and thought it was because I had been taking 5HTP for over a year, every day. It turns out that testosterone uses seratonin to turn it into 'happiness'. Now no problems with having sex w/ the gf nor with myself 5X a day, BUT I've been quite anxious and have that electricity flowing through the body feeling often. It turns out that being low on testosterone calms the body as well as accounts for the lower motivation to do things, work out, find more happiness in every day life.

I haven't been depressed in a couple of weeks, and thought that I was out of the woods - and am for all intents and purposes as far as what we're all looking for here in life after opiates. But almost $2k in doctor visits and tests and I found out about this vital problem that I have. My levels were that of a senior citizen when I'm in my mid-30s. My guess is that a lot of us here have this same issue. Not many hit up docs, we just give life time to heal.

I was prescribed HCG Injections to lead the body to producing more testosterone. Must Western docs would see my levels within the acceptable range, but this guy isn't cool with it. So two weeks of 3 injections each week (administer by your truly - told myself I'd never touch a needle and, well, you can see the irony). At other test in two weeks to see if its either my cojones that are slightly broke or if it's, most likely, the brain which needs a kick-start.

I tell you this to save you the money and also alert you to something that can help you out. I'm not talking about testosterone injections, HCG is different. If you have health insurance you can probably have Quest or some place test your hormone levels for almost nothing. I wasn't covered and had to pay cash (well, concerned mother who has been SO AMAZINGLY supportive and wanted to make sure I was fine after my pain doc had me prescribed at 360mg of oxy per day - which of course led me to being tolerant to 600mg/day - quit mid-September, FYI, to give you an idea of where I'm coming from).

Check it out. The 6 syringes cost me $150 and from the talks with several docs as my naturopath can't prescribe, I had to go to a different doc who agreed. I'll report in two weeks as to how I feel. MAYBE I'll start to walk out of the gym enjoying it as well as be able to put on some weight.

Note: this is not the same as the weight loss program, I was told its a slightly different mixture although that was from the receptionist's mouth, not the doc.

Subbed. Interested to see what happens. I'm W/d'ing from opiates right now myself, and I've always wondered about these things.

However, I'm more interested in what HGH would do to speed up the rebalancing/healing of the brain damage caused by heavy opiate use. In theory, wouldn't the HGH speed up the detoc process since it increases healing ability of the body?

I would be interested too as well. I was on Humantrope for about a year before picking up opiates (1.5yr run on Oxy 600mg+) and I felt the best I did my entire life and I was almost 40yrs old. I have been self-medicating most of my life with various drugs and I can honestly say that while I was on HGH I had no urge whatsoever to self-medicate. I was in the best shape and health in my entire life. Unfortunately, the doctor that was prescribing it to me passed away and I could no longer find a doctor to write it for me. I am now getting clean from opiates and have contemplated getting back on it, just thought I might be wasting my money. I think I am just going to go for it. I mean, I've spent enough money on this last run what's a few more $?

There are ways to get it without prescription, just have to look around. However, be prepared to pay for it :o. Also, be sure you find a reliable source. I know it's hard to do with UG sites but it can be done. Try not to stay on it for too long, either, or you will just develop another dependency. (In my opinion, even worse than opiate dependency.)

Quest is a testing company. Maybe there just here in Colorado. They do blood tests. Since detoxing, while going through paws, I wanted to see what kind of damage I've done over the past decade. I did a barrage of tests with thankfully everything being good, but what most docs don't look at are hormones. Check it out. It made a lot of sense to me that the drugs could do this, let alone that it might have existed before with situations like Hchow had - higher testosterone/hormones and all good.

These HCG shots might be a different formulation than the diet stuff that I found all over the web. They aren't expensive, but you don't want to self-medicate this stuff. For me it's about motivation and overall happiness along with calming my mind and body. I never thought about this until very recently. Thought some of you might wanna look into it if life just feels like "blah" all the time. There might be more than just lacking opiates and there might have been a condition before them that most of us overlook.
