I’ve felt your touch
Seen your face
Known a world that couldn’t possibly be real
And I still somehow can’t help but believe

Under the blinding stars
In quiet recluse of a suburban evening
Hoping for something more than what exists

Someday, this must be unearthed
And your planets and stars will sacrifice themselves
Eclipsed by the burning sapphire moonlight

I always hoped there was a purpose to your mission
That it wasn’t all in vain, bloody glory
But saw beyond your frail and precious form
And experienced what cannot be explained

Even in your last stride, you’d always be free
To come once again, you’d always say
That for all we hope to understand
We lose so much more than thought possible

So even on our day of anarchy
We follow the myth
And hope to reach the sun and the stars
Overcast a shower of our broken dreams

I like poems that reach for the stars. A lovely poem, although a little sad. There are some very beautiful words you've used that captured that -wow- feeling. I liked it.
