I recently started taking low dose of Vyvanse daily to help with focus. I'm planning on rolling in a month or so, and was wondering if there is any interaction with MDMA? Should I avoid taking Vyvanse a day/week before rolling? Should I avoid it after rolling?

Can't seem to find any real info on this. The only thing I have found was a claim that taking the two together extends the roll tremendously- but I'm willing to bet that it a total BS claim: here's the link: http://wiki.answers.com/Q/What_happens_when_you_mix_vyvanse_and_ecstasy

Anyone have any thoughts?

Yeah I figured that... I'm more concerned if whether I should avoid it before or after rolling. I'm trying to find any info on whether Vyvanse has any affects on serotonin, but not finding much details about that aspect.

How do you like that Vyvanse?
Man that shit is insane... Stayed up for days and had no problem spending like 5 HOURS working on my car doing something that should have taken 2 hours but I was like "Oh I gotta fix this too..." "Oh wait look at this..."
Felt like a tweak, and forgot to eat for two days.

HAHA

I am prescribed a very low dose, and keep it at that- I have no desire to abuse it. It is great for keeping me focused while working. But then when it wears off, I feel so sleepy.

Vyvanse efffects the serotonin, dopamine, and norepinipherine in the brain, same chems as MDMA. I have taken vyvanse before rolling, and im pretty sure it helped, but i always roll hard so i couldnt really tell, but as for comedowns, it DEFINATELY helps comedowns, 3 friends and i all took some during the comedown time, and it made us feel very euphoric and even seemed to bring some of the roll back.

but be careful! it can increase your heartrate way too high!

Well IME I toon 60mg adderall (amps) just like vyvanse more dex. Amp less Levo vyvanse I more levo. I had the worst comedown of my life 195+ BPM hear palpitations leading into a life changing anxiety disorder I know have called GENERAL Anxiety used to think I wouldn't have that sort of a thing happen to me... bUt it always catches up to you! be very carful mixing amps with MDMA!

Vyvanse is just a prodrug for amphetamine. As Ayla mentioned, it's metabolized to dextroamphetamine (aka "speed", also what's most commonly meant by the umbrella term "amphetamine"). It's not an MAOI as far as I know; perhaps you meant that it can be dangerous when combined with an MAOI, which is absolutely true.

Mixing MDMA and Vyvanse should have about the same effect as mixing dextroamphetamine and MDMA with a delayed onset on the speedy part (which decreases its subjective effects). ShayZon's right about mixing amps and MDMA since you'll feel the cumulative effect of taking two stimulants. It should be noted that 60mg of Adderall is a pretty heroic dose; people have adverse reactions to that amount alone, let alone combined with MDMA. :\

Taking Vyvanse for extended periods of time will result in amphetamine tolerance, which will decrease MDMA's euphoric and stimulant effects.

Also, this is kind of a back-from-the-dead-thread, huh? :)

From what I have read in other threads, some people say they don't roll as hard while taking prescription amphetamines/methylphenidate. I never had a problem with it at all though.

Dextroamphetamine is known to inhibit monoamine oxidase. The ability of dextroamphetamine and its metabolites to inhibit various P450 isozymes and other enzymes has not been adequately elucidated. In vitro experiments with human microsomes indicate minor inhibition of CYP2D6 by amphetamine and minor inhibition of CYP1A2, 2D6, and 3A4 by one or more metabolites, but there are no in vivo studies of p450 enzyme inhibition.

Could be the site is wrong. Just appeared reputable. =\ Is it possible that it does inhibit MAO, but in small enough amounts it doesn't matter?

It "inhibits" monoamine oxidase not because it actually binds to and deactivates MAO itself (as with antidepressant MAOIs, of which the reversable kind are far less risky), but because it releases large amounts of monoamines which temporarily occupy the MAO enzymes while being metabolized. It inhibits the various P450 enzymes for the same reason; amphetamine is a substrate for those enzymes, so naturally they're "inhibited" while they're occupied with metabolizing it. By this standard, anything that releases monoamines in large number could be considered an MAO inhibitor, including MDMA.

I'm awfully faded at the moment, so my apologies if that doesn't make sense. :\ (First time in a long time, for the record...)
