hi everyone could someone please help me with as im no good with maths :)I usally drink 500 ml cans of 8 percent volume larger ..for the minute im stuck with no beers but I have a bottle of vodka at 37.5 percent if anyone could tell me how much vodka in ml to put in 500 ml 0f fizzy drink to be basicly the same alcolohol content as I don't want to go overboard ..many thaks :)

Just have a few drinks dude until you feel buzzed or tipsy you don't gotta get all scientific lol

Are you drunk right now?
Please try to work on your grammar.
Unless you do not speak English then there is really no excuse for what you just typed up.

There's no way of helping you out without telling you how much Vodka is in your bottle.
But if you can tell me then I'll help you out.

The ultimate in harm reduction LMAO. Does this guy really want us to tell him how to consume his alcohol? Here's a hint, when you feel buzzed you did it right. When you black out and piss your pants you did it wrong.

HR at it's best here. Guy asks a question trying to be careful about his consumption, gets ridiculed. Good job.

OP, I'm too high to do the math, but you could use a calculator to figure out the percentages and then go with that, if you want to be really exact.

Just as an uneducated guess? I'd say it's no more than two shot glasses added to your water.

If you read the majority of my post history you will see I take harm reduction pretty seriously. Yes I do find it a bit silly this guest op can't use basic alcohol consumption common sense unless he's 16 years old and shouldn't be drinking in the first place. If this is offensive to you Bobby maybe you need a drink too buddy. Cheers! On and Bobby for HR sake disregard the alcohol comment if you are currently high on any other CNS depressants. Wouldn't want you or your thin skin getting hurt.

~106ml vodka = ~500ml "larger" (lager?) as far as alcohol content.
I think these people are just making fun of you because they're embarrassed they can't do simple algebra.

Well OP was very UNSPECIFIC in his post.

First off, he said 500ml "cans".
He never said how many cans, and I highly doubt he's getting a buzz off one can of Lager unless he weighs a few pounds.

Second off, he said a bottle of Vodka without saying how big it was.

But, anyways OP depending on your weight/tolerance and if you want buzzed, tipsy, or drunk, there's not really a way of saying how much Vodka you should drink. But, I guess I can give you an idea.

130ml = Buzz
225ml = Tipsy
350ml = Drunk
450ml = Shitfaced

But honestly for alcohol just start drinking, you should start feeling it immediately so just drink until you reach your sweet spot, no one really calculates how much they drink every time its sort of silly.

^^^This. If drinking starts becoming a math equation you might want to loosen up just a bit. But tightly wound is right. I clearly was just embarrassed and projected my insecurities onto others. I will work on it promise;)

Theres a song by Tupac called "picture me rollin", this guy should make one called "picture me trollin". These kind of ridiculous questions are obviously trolls. Just like the one the other day about the guy huffing spray deodorant. Probably trollers from 'the lounge'.

Yet we have our "tightlywound" HR specialist running the guest trolls booze numbers and mocking actual members for pointing out how ridiculous the entire thing is.

I don't think this an obvious troll post, it's not a troll post in the slightest, he is asking for someone to convert the numbers for him. It's just silly because it really doesn't matter but i guess some people are really strict on there limit of how much they wanna consume.

I'll move this to Basic Drug Discussion as this is not suited for OD. The mods there can decide if it's appropriate there or not (if so sorry for the inconvenience)

For somebody who hasn't drunk vodka all that much, it can take you by surprise. It often happens that a person starts drinking vodka fast shot after shot without noticing any effects, and then it creeps up and fucks them up. The question OP asked is not a stupid question, but I guess as somebody pointed out, the ridiculing responses are due to the people not being able to do simple math.

For future reference, an easy way to calculate how much of something you need:
If you want the same amount of alcohol as in one 500 ml can of 8% lager, then first, one can = 500 * 0.08 = 40 ml ethanol. So you want 40 ml of ethanol in your vodka, which is 37.5% (vodka should be 40%, but whatever). To calculate how much vodka you want to use, 40/0.375, which is about 110 ml. Take about 100 ml of vodka, and dilute it to 500 ml, and there you have it. Pretty simple.

Don't know why this was so hard.

In a 500 ml can of 8% alcohol there would be 40 ml of pure alcohol.

You would need 40ml/37.5% = 106.7 ml vodka in 396.3 ml of mixer to have an equal strength drink.

Or you could do what most do. Fill a glass with ice, fill it about a 1/3-1/2 full of alcohol, and top with mixer. Adjust to taste. Then drink until you feel good.

oh my someone's taken offense. I'll remember that jocular comments and math are not welcome in threads you've posted in ...wouldn't want you to feel the need to retaliate w/ grumpiness. was it the sarcastic mocking or the simple math that offended you?

this is not what he asked. OP gave all the necessary info to answer their question, which was not "how much vodka will it take to get me drunk," it was "how many ml 37.5% vodka equals 500ml 8% "larger." can't get much more specific than that.

Its answered in my opinion and we are now just having a back and forth that isnt very productive.
