Hello all, I am new here, and thought I'd share my experience. For a couple of months now I've been dealing with a roller coaster of drug use, and depression from withdrawal. It started about 6 months ago when I started my ride abusing opiate based pills, (percs, vics, and straight oxy) after that I moved to stims. I started with Adderall, and when I couldn't get it I would abuse Adipex. When those became boring I started abusing crystal MDA and MDMA as well as LSD. I became very depressed when not taking drugs and eventually started doing crank and coke. It took such a toll on my life, that I even quit my job and at times thought about suicide. Thanks to the help of my GF, I convinced my self that quitting everything cold turkey was the only way I could go about getting better. This was hell, considering I was withdrawing from meth. I searched online for way's to replenish dopamine levels, in hopes of gaining my happiness and motivation back. I stumbled upon a combination of L-tyrosine, 5-HTP and complex B vitamins. It's been 3 days and so far this combination seams to work great. I have very little urges to abuse stims, and my motivation/happiness is slowly begging to come back. My cocktail consists of 1000MG of L-tyrosine and 100MG of 5HTP every 8 hours, as well as one daily dose of vitamin B complex. These can be found in any vitamin store, as well as online. I was very skeptical about this working to begin with, and meditated even spending the money on these vitamins for a couple of weeks. But I can say that they work fairly well! My hope is to help anyone out there trying to beat their addiction. Remember, addiction is a disease; not a character flaw

That's great that you've had a good experience with your vitamin regimen and I'm sure others would like to know more about it in the hopes that they can apply it to their own situation, but unfortunately, this isn't the place for this kind of material. In Basic Drug Discussion, the discussion needs to center around the concept of Harm Reduction, that is, mitigating as much danger as possible for those who choose to use drugs.

So, while your thread is poignant and I'm sure helpful, it just doesn't belong in this section. I'm going to transfer this to the recovery forums where it might be better suited.

Hey Vette, and welcome to BL.

I like the neural precursors and i'm glad they are having a positive impact. Of Course the precursors have to be transformed into the successors of our often depleted system. We also desperately need neurogeneration and plasticity to treat addiction. Fortunately exercise does all this as well as treat anxiety, fatigue and depression really well.
