Visuals from weed?

Blowmonkey said:
hmm, isn't it coincedence morrison and trippinspirals had insane visuals in amsterdam from smoking a little bit of weed, haha, yeah right... said enough, our quality is superior 8), however, it takes a great deal of marijuana to make me have oev's, i always have cev's, only notice them if i pay attention though. mostly little blobs of light floating behind my eyes, never saw actual noticeable patterns from smoking, they're too chaotic if there are any there. if i smoke the right amount, that means a lot, the only oev's i have are a strange glow to the world, lights are brighter, colors are a little bit more pronounced, if you smoke very very much, the world starts spinning slightly and there's nothing i can think of anymore so i guess that was it.

most people exaggurate about their visuals, for instance, one guy claimed he saw little gnomes when smoking some weed, or some people who saw faces growing in the wood thanks to weed, i think this is just strong imagination or trying to look cool for some people, who knows, i dunno, what were we talking about?? man i'm stoned=D

I agree man, I think its generally bullshit to see things on weed

i think its mainly just the freak out factor, its not like on real pschedelics where you see colors morphing and there is no doubt you are tripping

i get cev's but nothing spectacular or interesting. ive had oev's...weed really makes other drugs stand out as well, ill trip way harder after i smoke up......

i tend to get this thing with weed where i can sometimes "See" parts of the music. like if im all into a song it just feels like i can see how the beats in the music are going......

trippinspirals: I agree 99% of the time - but when it happened to me I had already experienced intense acid and mushroom trips to compare it to - so that's why I was weirded out by the experience.

Most likely the sleep deprivation played a big part, though - I tend to call bullshit on OEV's on weed - even though it did happen to me that one time...

But clearly - it can happen :)

in my whole cannabis-life (i've been smmoking for 18 years now....) i had only two very intense trips on cannabis. Both happened in the last 18 months, so i guess something has changed...the weed or i.
in both trips i had strong visuals. When my last trip ended, i had nice OEVs of comic-style little yellow ducks running around. I also saw many blue and red shining dots on the wall...pretty nice, but i couldnt really enjoy it after what happened to me before, but thats another story.

Under the right circumstances cannabis can be a very strong hallucinogen

love and light

I trip off weed every time I smoke enough of it. (The most amazing patterns and colors)

It basicly has something to do with a button inside your head. If you know you can trip of it, and don't smoke every day, and then smoke some good hash, you TRIP!

there will be "static" little multicolored pixels over my field of vision, so everything looks fuzzy.

this describes the visuals very well in my opinion. My other friend always hallucinates "real things" like landscapes etc.

What happens to me when I smoke alot is my frame of vision will get distorted, and I will get an intense feeling of movement (i.e. shaking back and forth) which matches what is happening in my field of vision. I also get weird body buzzes which i can best explain as sensations in my third eye area. When either of these happens I tend to just stare, overwhelmed.

Good stuff.

first time with a bong and some dank ass purple weed made me see shit a little different....nothing like mushrooms though

I'm actually not bullshitting about anything. I have gotten really strong CEVs and some mild OEVs from Cannabis. Sometimes it's my whole reason for smoking. The way I've always described it is that you see the visuals from herb, but you get to take a walk inside them from LSD, Mushrooms, and other stronger psychedelics. I'm definitely not a new smoker either. I've smoked since I was 13, and I'm 19 now. This effect became alot more prominent after I tried LSD, but it's definitely there. I might add that I only smoke now about 2 or 3 times a month, and when I do I usually am looking for a spiritual/personal experience like I do when I'm tripping. Alot of times I'm in my room alone listening to music. Alot of my friends get significant CEVs as well. Some even get mild OEVs like me, and some don't see them at all. It's the people that smoke just to get high, and people that smoke to enhance their "party" and hang out exeperience that don't really seem to get this at all. I believe alot of it has to do with your reasons for smoking and your mindset.

Here's some of the visuals I've had from pot.
Besides the choppy vision (looks like bad frame rate on an old computer), I've had OEV's and CEVs and if I smoke really good stuff and listen to music with closed eyes I can create films to the music that I'm listening to.

I remember once I smoked some alright pot and I got synasthesia to music, everything got brighter, and I saw patterens in the carpet/in nature like I was tripping.

A few weekends ago, I smoked a joint of fairly good stuff by myself out in the woods at night and the trees looked like they were turning into people. Then I got out into the open and looked up at the stars and it was all good.

That is exactly the effect I always got when I smoked a lot of great pot in my first year or two as a pothead! It was for me the sign of being "truly stoned" - I really really miss it sometimes - but occasionally I will take a break or get unusually potent weed and I get back to a similar place =D

Hi guys,

Just kinda wandered, the other night, I went outside for a smoke, and experienced some pretty funky visuals when I went to bed.. has anyone else had this?.

It wasnt anything over the top (like rabbits eating pigs, or crazy stuff like that), it was like a lime green grid, on a black background, with flashing red dots, orbited by weird little triangles? :).

Thats all really, I just wandered if anyone else has experienced anything similar?. Its some decent green, and I think next time, I wont use quite so much!.

i have had this exact same expeiernce. it happened to me when i just began smoking bud. I saw the the same "green grid" that you explained. When it happened to me i was really high and i went swimming, and i looked up at the night sky and and i saw the grid.

This happened to me when I last chopped, mind you it was about 4hours after I dropped some mdma, I had a great night then with plenty of CEV's I have this feeling I had some mild OEV's but I have a pretty bad memory even before drugs.

Sometimes ill be able to see translucent open-eye patterns as well. Theyre a lot like the ones you described. Also when my eyes are open, there will be "static" little multicolored pixels over my field of vision, so everything looks fuzzy.

Do you mean like a clouded vision, your eyes can't focus quickly or something?
Are you sure your not just high & looking at the computer screen, hahaha

nah, I know what ya mean, just jokes.

The 1st time I got high, not including passive smokin, I was sure I saw a fox. It might have been a cat...it really looked like a fox though.

I think ya mind can play tricks and your imagination is an interesting thing...
Maybe it does something to alter the way the creative imagination visualisation areas in the brain work? Dope can enhance vision as well =D

Had mad visuals on LSD, I thought I saw jesus when I was nosin & I see a strobe type thing, in the k hole I thought things looked very different, alice in wonderland style visuals, sizes and dimentions all changing, no cencept of gravity.

When I was a kid, I had measles, I woke up and saw mario blocks infront of my eyes and there were only small areas between the blocks where I could see past to see what I was doing. :(

after mixing things and not getting enough sleep and food i sometimes start seeing things 8(

some of you guys sound like such new smokers
that's probably not the case, every drug affects everyone differently. myself, for example, i've done many drugs over the years, and i know from experience that i can act perfectly fine on dxm (<1100mg), and nobody can even tell i'm on it. weed, however, just plain fucks me up almost everytime i smoke, even if i smoke every day for months.

that's true, they're nothing like shrooms, but i get them too and i don't need anything that potent to do it. maybe this is because i don't smoke very often at all, but almost every time i smoke a lot of good weed, i see these colored patterns in things, and they're usually animated, almost like fractals but usually very simple.

oh man, i remember that, it used to be like that when i just started smoking. i wish i could experience that again....

i used to get intense CEV's on weed and still do usually, but somehow now they seem "black and white" or just very pale. In the old days they would be in full blown color. I smoked large amounts daily for a few months but haven't for more than a month now (probably once a week nowadays). So my tolerance is down, but i still don't get color cev's for some reason. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm guessing it's psychological tolerance but could it also be caused by my switching from 5htp to prozac?
