^The presence of kids should always be considered. I won't get into how absurd it is to SWAT a house where jits live, or the inanity of the CPD not having an existing (written) policy on raids to homes with children. The second bullet above (as worded in the article) is just rhetorical legerdemain (mains not very légères), committing them to nothing but contingency plans in case something like this makes the papers:
The visceral reaction that addicts, occasional users and teetotalers alike are having to this video is to the cops intentionally slaying two domestic canines, one that looked something like this:
The Corgi is, I believe, the second one shot, after the perp had been neutralized.
I don't care about this issue much; the video doesn't evoke an emotional reaction in me. Cops frequently shoot innocent humans (getting high is proscribed by sumptuary laws which history will eventually revile) and that is more important. But the video did enrage and continues to enrage many people because of the canines that were smitten (the child exacerbates the public's rage, but the smiting of the hounds is the emotional jolt that most feel.
The CPD could've just come out and announced some meaningful policy change that had something to do with domestic animals. They're gonna get fucked up the ass by this guy's lawyer anyway (sans Vaseline). I think they're pissing on people's faces and forcing them to keep their mouths open and gargle whatever lands therein.
