so here it is
the game is damn good. best looking game ive ever seen and tons of fun to boot. four player co-op in the campaign is revolutionary for a console FPS and is pulled off quite well. matchmaking is improved over halo 2 and with the addition of editing custom games and saved films OMG!
logging on to bungie.net opens up a plethora of stats and all sorts of other downloadable goodies.

Yes I got this game yesterday when it first came out. I liked it a lot, it really turned out the way I knew it would. I beat it on Heroic with my roomate in 8 and a half hours. I can only imagine how many people were playing it yesterday.

What would you all think of a Halo movie? i think it would be fucking sweet.

^I heard it's not in the works anymore but after the record-setting day the game had yesterday, they may have to rethink that.

The campaign isn't that long, which isn't surprising, but it was definitely fun. Online is where it's at and a blast to play, as expected.

Servers for online play were not ready for what they've gotten this week, and what they will get this weekend once people reserve their entire weekend for playing this.

Online play on Tuesday kept kicking people off, and reacting slowly because of so many people online.

This games kicks ass on too many levels. Graphics are amazing.

Why hadn't there been a thread on this before? Is this it for the BL Halo fans?

as far as the movie, it was greenlighted, then canned and now its in limbo. peter jackson and weta are doing the special effects and props.
