is it just me since i haven't played gtaiv in a while or is the city a little different? is there not a whole lot of new radio content on all stations?

i think the characters are more distinct simply because there are far fewer of them than in the original epic. i'm enjoying this just as much as the niko story. just done the races.

I think the new musical content is restricted to the rock station.

Regarding the city itself... no, nothing has changed that I can see, but I was going to mention in earlier comments that I've "rediscovered" the city and seen parts of it that I'd never really explored before. So much of the story takes place in back alleys and buildings on the "New Jersey" island - pretty much underused for the main story - and I think that contributes to feeling of seeing something new.

Having said that, there are times that I think the color palette may have been tweaked.

so true on the colours. one time on my first play the shadows all appears a strange orange colour.

the music on all the non rock stations are the same but the ads and fillers seem redone to me. haven't watched the tv yet but i read there's new stuff there too.

had a mad run from a four star wanted level last night. killed a whole lot of cops and it took me close to ten minutes but i shook them with a touch of life left. great fun stuff.

oh and at the end of the chase, i went back down a road i came from and found a downed police helicopter with three dead cops inside. eerily reminded me of "one day in september".

also, word on the net is that there will be another xbox360 exclusive episode as big as this one to be released and if there are any more after that then it'll be multiplatform.

Uhhh... completed it.

How the hell did that happen so fast? :D

I was expecting another episode after...
...Billy's demise. But nope, they just burnt the club down and it's game over????
Bit disappointing as I was just getting into it. I figured that the add-on would weave in and out of the entire Nico story arc, but it only follows it less than a third of the way through.

The closing credits are great to watch.

yo, bro, calm down, what's the friggin rush?

i'm only about 30% in. really like the extraneous stages (bikes and gangwars) and will be focusing on them before the story. nice to see nico.

could've done without the full frontal male nudity though.

watched some of the new content on the tv last night. nice. i am really enjoying this.

That's the thing... I didn't think I was rushing! Certain threads to the Johnny arc just evaporate towards the end. Did my fair share of the races (which are pretty easy) and the gangwars (which pose a little bit more of a challenge).

I've also noticed a few subtle differences to the gameworld. They're only slight.

One nice feature that I think wasn't in the original, is the ability to set multiplayer preferences that only allow you to join games that match your preferences (so you don't spend 10 minutes getting tooled up in Free Play, only to find out that some spanner has toggled the "friendly fire" option). At least... I don't remember that phone feature being on the original???

It'll come out on the PC in about 3 years and look/feel really dated as they always do. I'll still buy it though :\

Every time I play this on multiplayer, I realise how much fun it would have been to have people parachuting out of helicopters. Such a shame they didn't relent.

Why can't Rockstar have the unscrupulous approach of Electronic Arts and simply sell parachutes and such items as DLC? :D

^perish that thought! how shit is that idea!

when i pay for a title, i want EVERYTHING! fuck, knowing EA they'll soon be selling (as an extra) the only weapon one could use to defeat the final boss! gah! :!

the first thing I'll do when I get home on Friday is download this and play the shit out of it.

OK, maybe crack open a beer first. Then play the shit out of it for the following four weeks. woot. :D

I've probably enjoyed playing Lost & Damned more than I did with GTA IV. Whether it's because I've got used to the cars & bikes, it just feels a lot better. I think they've tweaked the physics of the bikes, because the last one was dire handling.

I went to play air hockey with Terry & Clay & as I walked out an effeminate Quentin Crisp type of mofo said something that irked me & as I threw a punch. A cop car was passing & hit the blue lights, Terry & Clay had their Pump actions on quick draw & fucking annialated them & another 2 cops who were close by on the street before I had a gun selected!! LOL!

Yeah, the bikes physics and handling have been tweaked to be a little more forgiving around corners and to allow for passing over small kerbs without spinning uncontrollably. But I can't understand why the better of the new bikes aren't in the multiplayer mode????

The character physics have been dulled though. Your charcter now kinda lumbers round like Herman Munster whereas Nico was pretty nippy. This is difference is more apparent in multiplayer... just try switching between the two episodes and you'll see what I mean.

dammit dammit fuckin dammit :!

got all 50 seagulls, so all i had to do is take the boys out and win some games and then the last couple of missions for 100%. met up with clay to play pool, figure the clubhouse is the closest table. take him there, completely forgetting the fact that if i lead anyone to the stairs, the game fucking locks up!

fuckin fuckin fuck

game finished. best downloadable content evar.
still 5% to go.... hmmmm
