One of the best PS2 games I played is now working it's magic on the PSP.

Supposedly a prequel to the story, this outlines the tragedy that befell this fantastic and yet so emo-rrific protagonist and takes him through hell and heaven on his way to an incredible climax.

Within the confines and context of the portable playing machine, this game loses little if not none of the epic scale of the PS2 original, and having just played it right through I can say it is just as fun.

The weapons were all quite usable, the gauntlet is my particular fave, but unlike the original they are a little easy to max out.

Some of the destructable elements in the backgrounds can at time appear a little obvious with a psp "shimmer" effect, but I also at a couple of spots found myself lost for ideas at how to progress.

Just on the story mode alone this is a good purchase. I haven't even tried the challenges yet.

I hope the movie is worthy.

on another thought, i missed GOW2 since it was released after i had already gotten rid of the PS2. GOW3 along with the new Metal Gear are the two games i'll miss by not having a PS3.
