Let's see! I'm not sure if he read his audience at all. He ranted a lot... and preached to the converted a lot... and had immense trouble answering any questions because he couldn't hear them yet no other speaker had this kind of trouble. He implied technical problems, but I think it was just his hearing. So that was a little frustrating.
I certainly didn't agree with his general attitude, which was a little along the lines of 'we should all be able to do anything we want'. It's certainly fine to listen to someone with a different view, but I wasn't hearing anything I hadn't heard before.
What I (and the audience) wanted was the 'so what next?'. How do we actually improve drug policy? How do we actually get through to those in power and make changes?
Verblose - I actually only saw his talk on drug markets. Finding the whole thing a bit grating, I skipped the second talk. Maybe others can comment more on that?
