vial exploded in freezer.. really annoyed

I was keeping a small amber vial of 6apb in my freezer and it exploded. The vial was in a container, so i didn't lose TOO much powder but the g or so that I gathered up has bits of glass in it. I was able to pick out all of the big pieces and its easier to see it because it isn't clear glass. WTF do I do? :?
I was thinking of a small sifter thing from the store.. but would I lose too much stuff? or would that even work?
And making a solution is possible.. but I really reallyyy do not want to drink this stuff. I would probably puke.

Do NOT drink the solution if there is a chance of ingesting glass shards. That could cause really serious medical problems.
 
OP do you have access to lab grade filter paper? Assuming not, I'd use 2 coffee filters. Dissolve your material in appropriate solvent; filter into a new container and that's it. Safe, effective and cheap.

I've got no idea about stability or how quickly you want to use, but this will work, and is safe.

The pisser is that you might not have intended to use it in solution :(

yeah coffee filters would be ideal, 6-apb probably dissolves in water but in case it doesn't check to see if it does. Either way, with several coffee filters, you can easily remove the glass. And yes what a pain in the ass it is when a vial breaks.

it's more fun dosing things in solution anyway, he wants to garble a pill when you can take drops of liquid like in futuristic depictions of drug use? except don't put it in your eye.

is it really worth the risk? just put it down to experience and move on.

ive never tried dissolving 6apb but i always thought its poor solubility was the reason it wasnt snorted
 
You don't need to store 6-APB in the freezer, for future reference.
Use an alcohol if it doesn't dissolve in water. I think a lot of compounds dissolve in that and I bet 6-APB does. Although I read about other people dissolving it just fine, maybe you are doing something wrong psy, or you try to achieve a concentration that is too high.
Also about the straining, I would do that multiple times with a few filters, you definitely want the glass out.

I'm moving this to ED where it belongs nowadays.
 
First use coffee filter and filter through that. Then get a syringe and filter it through cotton like every heroin addict does with their dope. This is what I would have done, then I would have used it rectally since it seems like it has the least chance of causing damage that way, should some small particle unlikely get through...

...but since it's a RC I would just toss it.
 
Ok, I'm going to mix it in with some water and filter it through coffee filters. I know keeping it in the freezer is unnecessary, it is just where I was keeping all of my RCs and fun stuff. I am not in the UK, so this is probably the last time I will ever see 6APB again.

Would evaporating the water work? to recrystallize it?
I have no idea how this would affect potency, if it all?

shouldn't affect potency too much, if it's completely insoluble in water then it may not go through the filter(s), not sure about that, in which case you could just use something it is soluble in, evaporate the liquid and you'll have powder again. You'll lose some product in the process but the actual potency shouldn't change.

aren't there people that can eat glass anyway? lol like on ripley's believe it or not?
 
You'll have to look it up for yourself, I have never done anything of that nature.


It's relatively simple, though. Dissolve in 99% Iso, filter and let evaporate. I'm not sure if there is any special way you let it cry to get better crystals, but it should create a sheet of crystals across the pan or whatever you use to let it dry that you can break and scrape up.


Actually, skip the vodka... just dissolve the APB in iso and filter like that. I'd probably try it out on a quarter gram or something first to make sure it works, though.
