veterinary pharms- meloxicam???

ok, my friend works at a vet clinic and decided to swipe some meloxicam- only problem is, we have no idea what it is......actually i do know its some kind of pain reliever. i'm just not sure about doses, and if its ever used for recreational purposes. i've searched everywhere, but to no avail.
does anyone know anything about meloxicam?? thanks!
