Hello all been reading for a while, but just finally made a profile. I know that you will obviously get a tolerance to any drug, but the tolerance I'm getting is just ridiculous. I've never really used opiates that much as i never really got the high but i have recently figured out what to look for. Two days ago i snorted 8 mg hydromorphone over the course of a whole day and got pleasantly high. yesterday I took 25 mg of hydrocodone and was nodding like crazy, but about an hour ago i took 20 mg of hydrocodone and about all i can feel is the 75 mg of diphenhydramine i have to take with opiates. I have taken 10 mg of hydrocodone before and got a decent buzz so could it be that i have gained that much tolerance in such a short amount of time?

maybe you didnt get high because you had a full stomach or something along those lines that day.

I would try a similar dose 1-2 more times to be sure though.

If it dosnet get you high then your tolerance is up. and once its up it STAYS up so be careful. Trust me I know first hand.

Yeah i'm thinking it was just that i had eaten recently because im getting a good buzz going now probably gonna take a break for a while after i kill the blue im getting

If you truly enjoy opaites keep your tolerance. low. seriously.

I would take the high I used to get from eating 2-3 perc/vicoidin over the high I get from shooting a bag of dope now a days.

The high is just soooooo much better and more euphoric. You relly have to use 10-12 times a year to keep the magic.

One thing you'll learn about opiates is that it is very hard to go down. If you get where you want to on 20 mgs. Stick with 20 mgs for a while until your really not enjoying it. Then bump up slowly until you find your new dose and stick to that for a while. If you feel where you want to be at 20 mgs don't indulge in 40 mgs and get really fucked up one day and expect the 20 mgs to be the same the next day. Once the 20 mgs doesn't feel how it used to its probably not ever gonna feel how it used to. And the best way to do that is having a higher dose than usual. Trust me I was under 90mgs of oxy for about 6 months. After that though I went to 200mgs of oxy in about 3 months from over indulging.

Another thing a lot of people do is take 20 mgs and then a little later take 10 or 20 mgs more to boost the original high. Again in my opinion this is a bit of a waste and a good way to build up your tolerance. Your not going to get 10 or 20 mgs worth of a boost but more like 5 or 10mgs worth. I feel like your receptors need to rest and reset. So you feel a little more euphoric but no where near how you did when you got your first high of the day your still filling up your receptors as though you took a 30 or 40 mg and only feeling the effects of a 15 or 25ish mg dose.

The only drug I find you can multiple dose on through out the day on and keep feeling higher is heroin or IV admining any thing. And even then nothin beats that first high of the day.

SO basically less is more when you come to opiates. The longer you can stick to a dose the cheaper your habits going to be in the long run. And avoid those booster doses that only get you half as high as they would otherwise but contribute 100% to your tolerance.

I'm pretty fuc*in tired so if that didn't make sense I apologize lol

I remember teh days when 2-3 norcos would get me nicely buzzed. Now its 450mg of Oxy plus.
Tolerance builds quick. If you stick to popping pills like no more than twice a month, your tolerance will stay low.

Yeah, give an 10 mg oxycodone orally to an opiate-naive person, for example, and he/she is really feeling it - really euphoric, really relaxed but mind-blown, great body high, maybe some nausea here and there, maybe a little headache or perhaps a lot of itchiness. Give the same person 10 mg oxycodone orally the day after, and there will not be nearly as "novel" or "prominent" effects for that person - they might still feel wonderful, but it is almost like you have been primed for the opiate, and it is LESS than it would be otherwise. Basically, we are talking tachyphylaxis, which occurs naturally with most drugs if dosed "chronically". So, what you should do, if you would like to preserve that low opiate tolerance, and you DO WANT TO, is what others above have suggested - use opiates sparingly. Hard? For some, not at all, for some, near impossible. If you are in the impossible category, and just must keep taking opiates over and over, I suggest you just stop with them altogether. Opiates are EXTRAORDINARILY addictive for some people, and while the wd's might not be as dangerous as those of alcohol, barbiturates, or benzos, for example, the allure of the opiate can be so strong that it is downright scary how far some will go to obtain them. I think opiates are the most alluring drugs, really, for those who respond "well" to them, for they are subtle in lower doses (or really any dose), but VERY euphoric and VERY relaxing, and you can still get shit done, unless you have taken so much you are in a very deep nod. Also, opiates give a good body high, too, and a feeling of contentment so warm, and relieve almost ANY pain. For all of this, they are EXTRAORDINARILY addictive - that bears repeating. So, if you can, use them sparingly (1 - 2 x monthly) and think of them as a special treat, not an entitled possession, for if you do treat them as a special treat on special occasions (low key or not - whatever) they are less likely to sit in your mind as "those drugs that make everything better, and make me feel fantastic", but instead "those drugs that make everything better, and make me feel fantastic, which are so great to take every now and again - keeping them special and wonderful as they are". Hope this helps.
