Have you ever made love with someone that is full to the brim with sorrow and grief? It's like standing in a gale and the sorrow passes into you. It gets into your damp skin with their breath, it sticks to the insides of your legs with their hot sad fingers.

I wanted to take her grief and wrap it up in an unmarked package and leave it somewhere like a bomb that would go off and wound everyone. Grief like that should be shared. It should be public.

The world is full of so many shattered people walking around held together by an invisible tape of fear. I'm finding that strength is no longer enough to get me through my life. I am finding I am so strong, so smooth and clean that another form of sadness has used me as a mug.

"God grant me the strength to rise above the cesspool I find my soul in"
