Roger, I fully agree with your address on the trans fat and sucrose issue.
But, you Roger, are a fine specimin indeed. One might even liken you to the physique of a cheetah, or whichever animal you please. You work like an animal, and use every potential benefit meat has to offer. In optimum health, one barely gets affected by Many of us are not fit or do not use it, therefore letting it hurt our health. For example, 80% of blacks and 20% of whites do not have lactase to digest cow's milk.
"Early humans were hunter-gatherers, they ate alot of meat and alot of complex carbs and fiber. That's what we're meant to consume."
Early humans fought to survive and did things out of desperation. Given a choice of food, I would not eat McDonald's unless I had $2 in my pocket. That's desperation. We are an advanced civilization right now, capable of eating multifacited groups of foods that will provide sufficient nutrition and prevent diseases. Meat today improves your chances of getting cancer and disease. But of course, today's meat is infected with horrendous chemicals and things that buffalo and deer our ancestors ate did not have. Cows are fed sawdust. Chickens are fed other chickens. 55% of animals are given antibiotics. 55% the US diet containing chlorinated hydrocarbon pesticides comes from meat, 23% from dairy products, 1-6% grains, veggies, fruits. 99% of our mothers' milk now contains DDT. Only 8% of vegetarian mothers have this. Violet dye used to stamp meat for years is now banned as it was proven carcinogenic. In 35 years, the amount of male college students that were sterile jumped from 5% to 25% and sperm count is down 30%. The principal reason for sterility is pesticides. 94% of these pesticides are attributed to meat, dairy, fish, eggs.
And for the average man, the most common cause of death in the US is from heart attack. The risk of heart attack by a vegetarian: 4% Risk for raw food dietist: 0-1% I would guess that for the average man, meat is not a good source of healthy nutrition.
In 1950 the average Japanese consumed 5.5 pounds of milk and dairy... By 1975 that number had increased to 117.4 pounds. During that 25 year period, the average 12-year-old girl gained 19 pounds, grew 4 1/2 inches, and the average age of menarche went from 15.2 years to 12.2 years. How else do you explain this?
Rise in blood cholesterol from consuming 1 egg per day: 12%
Rise in heart attack risk from 12% rise in blood cholesterol: 24%
Roger, your cholesterol is 130, yet one simply eating a vegan diet and not physically working oneself a fraction of what you do can obtain a few points lower.
As for growth hormones in milk,
"After the rBGH milk is consumed, IGF-1 is not destroyed by human digestion. Instead, IGF-1 is readily absorbed across the intestinal wall. Additional research has shown that it can be absorbed into the bloodstream where it can effect other hormones."
This happens because the hormones are almost identical in human and bovine, thus readily available to hop across species. We saw this in the mad cow crisis (a result of cows eating dead cows, then us eating those cows).
Europe has BANNED hormonal milk from America, unless labeled as such. The FDA does not require labelling.
Also, 80% of cows treated with this hormone get udder infection, resulting in PUS which is NOT regulated by the FDA (they love the hormone), and is ready to infect a cereal bowl near you.
"Diseases which are commonly prevented, consistently improved, and even cured by a vegetarian diet include: Heart disease, strokes, osteoporosis, kidney stones, breast cancer, colon cancer, prostate cancer, pancreatic cancer, ovarian cancer, cervicalc ancer, stomach cancer, endometrial cancer, diabetes, hypoglycemia, kidney disease, peptic ulcers, constipation, hemorrhoids, hiatal hernias, diverticulosis, obesity, gallstones, hypertension, asthma, irritable colon syndrome, salmonellosis, trichinosis, etc."
