Sup fellas. Hope you're all doing swell

So I have a question. I can't find much info on it and in not getting positive responses from the places I normally go

Do any of you know if there are things you need to adjust if you're a vegan using gear?

You're alive! Welcome back ;)

In what sense mate? All veganism ultimately means is you need to make sure you're getting enough of the right aminos (the right ratio) in your diet.

Gear meaning smack? (People here say "gear" meaning either H or meth)

Most vegans need to watch their iron and b12 levels.

Edit - er, just realised this was posted in PED, so you probably dont mean h or meth. Oops heh

yeah ive been gone for a while but im doing well
giving the family thing a shot

I dunno how to really explain it, obviously there are the things you look for like lack of iron and b12 like space mentioned

But i didnt know if there was anything you need to adjust while being a vegan and using a gear. Its just a question with no base, my logic is i dont know if using gear will be affected by a lack of meat is basically what im getting at

Your gains will be hindered and strength will be lessened if you are not acquiring enough of the right protein(aminos).

Why be a vegan? Just curious, because it's always baffled me.

No impact at all. There'll be no effect on any aspect of your physiology, as long as you're taking care of your nutrients and aminos. Most vegan meat substitutes are pretty balanced these days, while powdered proteins like pea and soya are virtually equipotent to whey with sufficient intake.

it started because I met a girl
i eat healthy year round as it is so it wasnt that much of a reach to remove the meat, my logic is i eat healthy year round and ive been in relationships where it makes it hard to be with the person because of the difference in food we eat so I figured id give it a shot just to make things easy. Worst case scenario i just go back to eating meat

With that said ill be 31 in a few weeks, ive been a high level athlete my entire life and since ive removed meat from my diet i honestly cant much tell the difference from when i was eating meat. I have to eat much much more food but beside that i cant tell the difference

My strength isnt down, im not trying to make any gains, my only goal is to maintain a "beach" body and I do that at 190 right now. I use gear to sharpen up during the summer thats about it. And I might bulk once or twice more during my life time to see if i can maintain the look I have and be 200+. For no other reason then i want to say im 200lbs

What protein would you suggest?

Women can make one do the darnedest things lol. Kidding. If it works for you then why not. I just have too much of a love for red meat and various cheeses.. I think I would give up a lady before I would give up meat and cheese.

I don't want to get into this debate, but one of the main reasons people go vegan is the horrific impact of factory farming on the planet - let alone the ethical side of things.
Some people want to do good things in their lives, not contribute to waste, cruelty and destruction. Is that baffling?

well like i said i eat healthy year round and I have for a long time.
the only food i went out of the box for is sweets, i love cake

so its not like it ultimately mattered if i stopped eating meat or not, i was never a big steak guy or anything
and if my performance dropped or anything it would be one thing, but i work a manual labor job and still make it to the gym and ive seen no negative side effects

That was her reasoning for doing it. She showed me some pretty horrible videos with verifiable facts. I was just conforming to make things easy, i cant personally say I really care about that stuff however unlike most things it appears that 1 person can make a very positive impact by becoming a vegan

Yeah. I too have a vegan girlfriend, and i love the food.
Technically not vegan myself, but i find myself avoiding dairy and stuff. Been vegetarian for a long time.
I never noticed a difference in eating meat, veg, pescatarian or vegan.
Just really enjoy healthy food, and vegan feels good to me.

Yeah, pretty much this. I'm not vegan, but I do have 2-3 vegetarian days per week now, have cut back my meat and upped my portions of eg lentils to substitute the protein hit, and try to source all my meat and egg products organic/locally produced.

Honestly pea tastes appalling. So I'd probably go with soya unless you have intolerance. You could also add some vegan BCAAs/EAAs/Leucine just to make sure you're 100% covered.

Anything specific you would recommend?

EDIT: What are you feelings on sunwarrior protein? It appears pretty cost effect and the amount of protein is pretty high

Also what do you know about needing less protein as a vegan? I heard plant protein absorbs better and you need less of it?

I have a freezer full of grass fed farm raised beef. Hell they're pretty much my pets, and I hate having to slaughter them but it's necessary. They don't suffer in the slightest though, I am highly against animal cruelty and the way these mass farms operate, the conditions etc..

One could argue the screaming plant theory, for killing innocent plants and the horror they must go through. Because they are a living thing correct? What are your thoughts on fish?

You're insinuating eating meat if raised in the proper conditions and treated with care is me wanting to do negative things in this world and contributing to destruction? Ok.

Enjoy that philosophy you have there.
