Vaporized vs. smoked cannabis on a psychological level

Friends.

I have been a cannabis smoker on a daily basis for many years. I usually smoke at least once daily in the evening, but much of the time I will smoke throughout the day.

My question to all of you is: Is vaporization diferent than smoking on that level?

I purchased my first vaporizer, the vriptech valloon, a year and a half ago or so. I find that when I use that and only that vs. smoking, within a few days time I feel a profound feeling of energy and alertness, as well as a general improved mood. I am diagnosed with severe depression, so this means a lot.

When I start to smoke again my mood seems to, over a few months time, lower again.

Does anyone have any ideas on this? My only one is that perhaps vape. produces less of the other CBN's abd more primarilly only produces THC. Would this make a difference?

thanks

I think vaporizing produces a much cleaner high than smoking. When i vape i also feel much better. Smoking tends to give me a dirtier, cloudier high.

Keep vaping!!!

I have a vaporbros and love it!

Hell yeah man, I love hearing from other vapers.

I used to have the vriptech Valloon valve on a steinel LCD heatgun, which is comparable to the Volcano for sure.

That system, however, met an untimely death and in it's place I have ordered the vriptech master system, which is just a good solid bong with an adaptive bowl to accomodate the heat gun.

I'm so stoked!

Smoking pot seems to create much more of a body high for me, sometimes uncomfortably so. I personally would put this down to the activity of cannabinoids other than THC.
The effects seem to peak 10 minutes after finishing smoking.

Vaporising pot tends to give me a very psychedelic experience, complete with OEVs (somewhat different from 5-HT2A mediated ones, not flowing, they tend to be static - hard to describe - often lines in worlds I can walk through and affect by concentrating - and rearranging concrete into stars and such). The effects are felt and peak out (per lungful of vapor) within 10 seconds of inhalation. The CEV's and disassociative effects I can get from vap'ed pot are frequently amazing.

I would expect that that vaporising process produces a significantly different mixture of drug actives compared to smoking. Smoking, due to it's combustion, will deliver a much more complex mixture of molecules - degradation products and whatnot, some of which may be active, some of which may not.

I get a much better high from a vape, but I am without one at the moment, funds are a bit tight.

I just use a glass crackpipe, works wonderfully. No need for an expensive vaporiser, IMO. (Though, it'd be nice, for sure!)

With a vapourizer, you're specifically targetting the cannabinoids (OK so you'll get everything with a lower BP than the cannabinoids); smoking vapourizes just about everything organic, but it also chemically changes the chemicals going into your body (and the pyrolysis products can be really nasty chemicals that bugger your DNA). They are not equivalent processes, so they are going to give a different effect.

Also vapourizers don't bugger your taste buds the way smoke does, so your sense of taste isn't dulled (important if you delight in 'the munchies'!)

Yeah I love the alertness of vaporized weed too...I pretty much only do it like that now unless I don't have my vaporizer on me (rarely).

Did you clean all the crack out first? :)

I've heard, as well as thought myself, "This is like smoking crack," especially when getting a huge head rush as a seasoned, overly tolerant smoker. Superlative comparison to be sure, but an experience I've had. I enjoy the vape high more than smoking as well as finding it more beneficial.

This is timely, since every single time I have smoked pot in the last few months in a social setting it has resulted in a much dirtier high than I am used to. I put it down to set/setting, but I just now realized when I smoke pot alone I am always vaporizing it, since I do not like to take the smoke in (it usually burns my throat).

Now, how to convince friends to load up the lightbulb as opposed to the pipe??? :)

this thread just got me to go buy a vapir 1....works amazing :)

Haha.

I'm glad I got one person to switch to vape, my job is done.

My vripmaster should be here any day now, I can hardly wait to toke this amazing purple bud. =D

I might put up some pictures of the whole ordeal, show how it's all done. Im hoping this system will work out because it's so much like regular bong hits that maybe more people will dig it.

I can't wait to have my friendly medicine back at its fullest.

i cant believe i can smoke without my bronchitis going nuts...this is fucking amazing. im so happy i got a vaporizer lol

Clean, sorta psychoactive effects. Good mind buzz, lesser body buzz. However you are not getting as much tar and CBN and dirty/converted cannibinoids.

If you don't like the buzz, take one hit off a glass pipe or bong afterwards. I guarantee that you will get a phenomenal buzz, and it will still be a pretty clean buzz.

try the phedor the vaporizing wand so you can vap out of glass. awesome product if you love to rip bongs and want to experience the heady vap high its perfect

man you guys sound like potheads. Whats so great about pot I'll never know (I'm still working on it having smoked it for about 10 years).

I know exactly what you mean man, other drugs give alot more bang for your buck with cannabis there's something special about it. Maybe it's the fact that it seems to make every activity that bit more exciting or the fact I can smoke it daily and it dosen't really interupt with my life. After a while I think that being stoned becomes more natural feeling that not being stoned.

I have only used a vapouriser a few times, and on all occasions I was smoking joints at the same time and beforehand so I can't discern the differences. Is it much better? And what price range am I looking for something decent.

At the end of the day though, I'll always enjoy sitting back with a nice joint.

yeah joints are the best, they are just so much fun.

you canmake a homemade vaporizer that works fine out of a lightbulb. Try to find a highwatt lightbulb as the glass is a little thicker (less likely to BURN the marijuana).

Watch out for those incomplete hits of DMT that are melted on the walls from last night's DMT sesh! =D

I believe a fair portion of the effects you guys are describing are from:
1. the fight/flight adrenaline rush that is generated when you inhale a cloud of smoke @ 400 C. Burning the hell out of your lungs will certainly cause a a chain reaction in your brain saying "get the hell outta the fire!" and so...
2. Whilst high, you are also experiencing the crash from the adrenaline, which definitely interacts with the CBDs along with...
3. feeling more tired because your body is trying to recover from frying your lungs and mild oxygen deprivation to the brain (which also impacts a flavor to the other 2 effects).
That said, nothing beats a bong and doobie (or, as I learned this weekend, a downstream gasifier :))
