Valium use question

upon snorting 5mg of valium I got no effect at all when 5mg the other day injested orally worked fine....why isnt there any effect when it is snorted
 
While you can snort benzos like Valium, it's really not necessary. It doesn't get absorbed into your nasal membrane, like cocaine, or opiates. You still feel the effects, but you have to wait until it drips down the back of your throat and into your stomach. Anyway, 5mg is a very low dose of Valium, even for a first-timer. I'd try swallowing 20-30mg next time. If you want it to kick in faster try letting them dissolve under your tongue, which is called the sublingual method.
-edit The reason you didn't feel any effect from 5mg insufflated was because you took a very low dose.

it would make more sense though that a low does would have some effect snorted like if you rail a .5mg of xanex it hits you alot harder than if you would of ate it. so most likely valium isnt a polor substance and thats why it can't dissolve throught the nasal membrane
 
I've tried railing most of the common benzo's and I've never found them to hit any harder than just swallowing them. I've had the most experience with Xanax, and I've tried snorting four 1mg pills and I felt no different than if I just took them orally. There's no rush involved, like the rush you get from snorting cocaine/heroin/meth
One time, when I was down to my last three 1mg Xanax's, I railed 1mg and it just didn't do any more for me than swallowing did. IMO you're just burning your nose needlessly.

UTFSE! This question gets asked/discussed about every other day. Benzos are NOT water soluble. Snorthing them is a WASTE of time unless you follow them up with a snort of vodka... EAT THEM! If you *think* they hit you harder snorting them, you're fooling yourself- plain and simple. The only reason you feel anything by snorthing them is from the drip hitting your stomach.

Thanks Drug Dustbin. Of COURSE they are slightly soluble in water otherwise they wouldn't be travelling through your blood stream. However, the point being is they have very low water solubilities. Now I understand why they would have a sort of minimum time to effect but why the mucus membrane is worse at absorbing lipids than the stomach/intestine you have me...maybe that is what the stomach is partially designed to do.

Snorting benzo's is a waste. Sure it's currently the, "in thing" to do but it's stupid. All your doing is killing your nose & wasting the pill. Just eat it up. If you wanna snort a pill try adderal or oc's...

I know the solubility problem when using benzodiazepines intravenously. But how do you explain the case reports of intranasal abuse of alprazolam [1]? Also flunitrazepam, which is quite lipid-soluble benzodiazepine, reaches systemic
circulation 5 minutes after snorting [2].

I can vouch for the intranasal abuse of alprozolam....it works great...I dunno how, but it does. and no its not the fucking drip. cause I already feel it b4 the drip comes

Placebo can account some of the effects, but you can not deny the fact that flunitrazepam is detected in blood within five minutes after snorting. Flunitrazepam is insoluble in water and is slightly less lipid-soluble than diazepam.

could this very slightly water soulable substance be entering the blood stream through capilaries in the lungs...after all some of the stuff you snort ends up there
 
I don't know if it's placebo or not, but the last couple of days I have been snorting half a klonopin (I don't know for sure how many mg's, it was the blue one with the big ol K perforation)
and it hit after like 5 minutes.
And it hit hard. After about 15 minutes I could barely talk/move, and after 25 minutes I was wasn't making any sense at all.
If this really was a placebo effect created by my mind, pretty soon I will start taking advils and telling myself they are pure, unadulterated MDMA!

your shittin me right??..even if they were soluble YOUR talkin about gettin floored off of .5mg of klonopin(that is just mind boggling),anybody that does benzos will know that gettin FLOORED off of .5mg of K-pin 2 days in a row is(yet alone feelin it) IMPOSSIBLE,(unless you were drinkin everclear)
i dont care how low a tolerance you have cause even after 1 time benzo tolerance goes up enough that you would have to raise your dose

What is the point of administering a benzo sublingually if it cannot be absorbed intranasally? They work on the same principle, do they not?
