Valium Script Question?

I just went to the doctor today and complained about anxiety and depression and that I had just come from another doctor who had prescribed 2 different SSRIs that didnt work. He gave me #60 2mg Valiums to take 2 times a day and some samples of another SSRI. He said that since the dosage is very small, I might not feel it, so I may need to take 2 and to tell him if I do. How long should I wait before doing this and would it be a good idea for me to do that? Also, I got this complaining about anxiety and panic attacks that I have and how it is affecting my life (dont hangout with friends much, dont leave the house much), not about any probs with SSRIs, so what would be the best way to go about getting this script renewed (I have 1 refil). What would be a good way to get the script changed to a diff benzo? Thanks.

o.k.
First off, 2mg Valium isn't going to provide you with any fun if that's what you're after.
Do you want (or need) to be on an SSRI? If not, tell your doc that the samples he gave you are causing you to have "the shits" (the same problem caused by the other SSRI's you tried). That way he MAY realize (as my doc did), that "your nervous system obviously has some sort of aversion to SSRI's".
He may then try you on a regular benzo script.
Valium is WEAK. We only have 5 and 10mg doses where I live. You could tell your doc that 1 pill didn't have any effect, and that 2 somewhat helped for a few days, but after that your anxiety was back to normal.
Hopefully he'll try you on something like Klonopin (Clonazepam) which is stronger, longer lasting and a little more useful for recreation, combining with weed, comedowns etc.

how long should I wait before trying to up the dosage? If i complain that they dont work very well, would i get switched to another benzo, or is there a possibility that i could get taken off benzos all together? If i had my dosage upped in the middle of my original script (which is supposedly good for 30 days, or 15 if i have to take 2) would I be able to get another script or would I have to finish my old script before getting a new one?

also, i really do suffer from social anxiety, what would be a GOOD dose that would treat that and still let me be able to function at work (manual labor job including vehicle operation)?

The whole point of the process is to find the good functional dosage for you. That's why you're going through it. Just go in after 20, 25 days of taking one or two, say it's not strong enough if it's not strong enough. This seems pretty obvious. If you're just trying to sc0re drugs you'll get moved up in dosage or moved to another benzo. Maybe testing SSRI's here and there, saying they don't work after 15, 30 days.

whats the max i could say didnt work on me without em marking me as a scripter? what are you supposed to feel like when they work for curing anxiety (not fun)? I took like 10 mg and didnt feel much of anything. basically, i want to know how far i can push it without looking like a scripter or lying...would it be possible for 10 mg to have no effect on someone who has never been scripted benzos? would that make the doctor think that somethings not right?

It's very possible. Tell him the truth. Just say you can't feel 4mg doing a thing. He'll move you up. It takes time. If he moves you to 10mg, come back after your trial period and say it again. If you're not a 'scripter' then you shouldn't be in such a hurry to find out what works for you...

i never said i wasnt a scripter, just that i really do have somewhat of a need for these drugs...but I am also looking for a more recreational use for them at times... how do people who have a LEGITAMATE use for these drugs feel when they take them? do they make those people fucked up too, or just feel normal?

Relief + any "common side effects" off the list. Like fatigue commonly...

2mg Valium suck. If your just taking them for your anxiety that's one thing but they'll do you no good for recreational use. Unless you have a jug of them. blahblahblah couldn't have said it any better. Take his advice it should work and get you bumped to either a higher dosage or a stronger benzo...

if you have legitimate social anxiety, try carefully to *not* get Paxil. the whole concept of prescribing antidepressants for social anxiety is something I question greatly - based fundamentally in the medical community's opinion that benzos are not good drugs for long-term use. this may be true, but they have only recently gotten over the idea that it's not okay to prescribe opiates for chronic pain (I mean legitimate chronic pain, such as a back problem diagnosed by MRI), and I'm hoping benzos will gain more acceptance in the future.

already got paxil, zoloft, and celexa. Told em paxil makes me sick, zoloft makes me jittery/cant sleep, and just got celexa to try.

I take blues (10mg) for recreational purposes. I like to take them coming off E. I will take maybe 2 blues and puff hash on a comedown. The next day if I still feel iffy I will take another one. If I take them when I am straight I usually want to fall asleep. I have never taken more than 2 blues at a time as I don't like being gouchy (nodding off etc). When I do take them I feel so tired and groggy the following day.
I know people that used to take them to get to sleep and ended up taking more and more. If you've got problems just now do you really want to go about getting yourself a valium habit? They are very addictive :(

^^ Are you talking about blue xanax or blue valiums? Blue xanax are 1 mg. I dunno how to get around your doctor mabey if you just take them as presrcibed but tell him tah they didnt work he will hook you up with 5mgs? I realy dont know the relationship you have with him but he is trying to help you right?

^^^I was taking about valium. I apologise for being unclear but where I come from we just refer to 10mg valium as blues (because they are blue).
K-bumps, if you want to upt your script go back to your doctor in say half the time you were supposed to next see him. Tell him you ended up taking 4 2mgs a day and you just don't feel they are working. Just make out that you don't realise he can up your dose and he might do it. If you do get more just be careful.
