Yesterday I took a total of 30 mg of valium (very fun :]) I kno that diazepam has a 60 hour half life so i was wondering if anyone else has experienced valium's effects for multiple days because i still feel "fucked up".

I took 3 10 mg pills each at varying times prolly an hour and 30 min between ingestion of each pill starting at like 2:00 PM

It will disappear gently.

Tho, now I can hardly remember that, since it has been several years of continuous use.

Yup, the phenomenom you pointed out is one of the best aspects of valium;its extrordinarily long half life makes it less addictive and more beneficial for social/general anxiety then short acting Benzos (xanex).

It lasts to so long because of this:

After xanex detatches quickly from those GABA receptors (the receptors responsonsible for the anxiolytic, a fancy word for anti-anxiety, effects of benzos, alcohol, and kava), your body metabolizes it into worthless biproducts which can be easily disposed of via the bladder. Once the xanex rapidly disappears, your brain- which is like, "Wtf, i got to do something about this", makes drastic chemical changes in response to the quick deactivation of the GABA receptors, and results in the user feeling like crap and wanting more xan.

Valium, on the other hand, instead of being processed into a worthless metabolite like Xanex does, is transformed into three New Drugs (active metabolites) that reattatch themselves to the GabA receptors ,thus preventing a horrible crash. These three new drugs each leave your body at a seperate time, creating a natural "tapering" effect.

This isnt meant to be exact, but heres what happens

You take valium, which attatches to your GABA receptors.
Initialy all of the Valium (halflife:20–100 hours) will attatch to its matching GABA receptors, making you feel good, but over the course of the day it will turn into its three active metabolites, which also make you feel good. THis active metabolites are:

nordezapam (halflife:36-200 hours),
Temazepam (Halflife:8–20 hours)
oxezepam (Halflife:4-14 hours)

"T+ means time after you took valium

Valium (Diazepam)

T+1-20 hours:you will be high on a mix of Diazepam, nordezapam, temezepam, and oxezepam.

T+20-24 hours: Your high on a mix of nordezapam, tamezepam, and oxezepam, this is assuming that Diazepam had been completely metabolised.

T+24-28 hours: Your high on nordezapam and tamezepam, oxezepam has detatched from your GABA receptors and left your system.

T+28-56 hours: Your high only on nordezepam, which-due to the facts that it is the most abundant metabolite and has an extrordinarily long hald life- has significant effects that gradualy diminish as it slowly detatches itself from the Receptors de GA-BA.

Notice the gradual reduction of GABA attatchment in your brain, Valium does naturally what heroin addicts do when they are TRYING to beat an addiction all on its own every time you dose.

On the contrary, lets look at Xanex (Deffinitly not meant to be accurate, Wiki say 11.6 hours but thats got to be bs)
Xanex (alprozolam)

T+0-5 hours: YOur very high on alprozolam, which has a very high affinity for the GABA receptors (has a strong effect

T +6 hours: Your high on nothing and crashing because your body had no time to chemically adjust to having Nothing attatched to its GABA receptors

^ No. Valium's half-life can extend right up to 100 hours. Check it out on Wikipedia.

But personally, I find its noticeable effects only last a few hours.
