valium and codeine

hello, first post on this....

I'm just wondering out of curiosity and curiosity alone whether 20mg of valium and 60mg of codeine is dangerous?

No, you might get really tired but that's not a dangerous dose.

It's best not to mix benzos and opiates unless you have a fairly high tolerance to both. It can cause respiratory depression meaning that you could stop breathing.

Though both listed are fairly reasonable starting doses, I would still recommend against doing them together.

Absolutely no danger whatsoever; unless you go lie down in dark silence I doubt you'll even fall asleep. 60mg codeine could be prescribed (in addition to about 1g acetaminophen) for a sore throat/cough, and 20mg diazepam is within the therapeutic dose range.

no danger AT ALL... you could even go for 200mg codeine and 20mg of valium and a benadryl 30 minutes before you drop the codeine to not get too itchy

^man, you give bad dosing advice. 60mg of codeine and 20mg of valium is perfectly fine for a non-tolerant user. 200mg of codeine plus 20mg valium? you should not say stuff like that.

if you really started at 200-300mg of codeine plus a benzo, like you tend to recommend in codeine threads, realize you are atypical and you should not recommend the same dose to others.

Yeah, I gotta go with the guy above - I take 200-300mg with 75mg Diphenhydramine (Benadryl) and I'm properly nodding out - completely monged. I wouldn't recommend that to someone who isn't prepared or experienced, let alone chucking 20mg Diazepam/Valium into the equation. That is just stupid.

^^ 60mg codeine is 6mg morphine, in the ER, not knowing your tolerance, if you're hurt they will IM 30mg's of morphine..

fine, you can do 60mg and not feel shit, and it will be a big dissapoinment, or you can take 200mg, and get a slight idea of what codeine/opiate high is like... all the people i know started with 1 box of OTC codeine... 300mg... including me, the only thing i should have done is take an anti-histamine before hand

if you do a 10mg test to check you're not allergic, 300mg or 200mg is in no way dangerous for a first timer.. no where neaaaar OD levels

^^^Allergy test is an important consideration. But I doubt your experience in the dose range you're describing will be anything other than relaxing.

I may have a naturally high tolerance to opiates, but that doesn't sound too much to me.

not dangerous, but too much. 120mg is a good first time dose for a greenie. 4 T3s. and the vast majority of human beings will definitely feel 60mg. especially if combined with a benzo or beer.

with 120mg i doubt you will get a warm, fuzzy opiate feeling.... i agree with starting low and building up, but in my books 200mg of codeine is low!!,,, any less and you wont feel anything (unless you're a 13 year old who weighs 45 KG
