Misc Valerian + methadone..?

I am currently on 50mg of methadone a day which I take at my local clinic in the city. I am also prescribed 600mg pills of neurontin which I eat prodigiously (maybe 6-8 a day, but sometimes I skip a day and eat none), and 100mg of doxepin a night. I recently bought a container of valerian root capsules 250mg minimum 0.8% valerenic acids (2mg), and was wondering how this combo might play out? Will the valerian potentiate the opiates? I know from experience that neurontin does help accentuate the high a bit, but i've never tried this threesome before.
Also if anyone knows the quality of 0.8% valerenic acid for v. root i'd like to know.

I dunno, I wouldn't really say that it boosts my meth dose (doxepin that is), I can't even tell if it really helps or not, which is why I hate anti-depressants, can't even tell if it's placebo or actually doing something.

^I found doxepin to be pretty sedating. Never took it regularly, so I don't know how it works as an antidepressant.

I don't think I've ever felt anything that couldn't be attributed to placebo when taking valerian capsules, even when taking more than the recommended dosage. Some people seem to think it works well though, maybe the quality varies quite a bit with different products. It would be interesting to try pure valeric acid to compare.

Ya I've had endless experimentation with endless varieties and forms of valerian and it seems to do about diddly squat. I imagine if you had some super potent extract and overdosed on it you might get a bit sleepy but other than that it seems a bit worthless. Hell, they even have like 17mg of it in some cold herbal tea I bought the other day at a sheetz, needless to say i wasn't in any altered state of mind except angry for paying 2.50 for a shitty taste herbal tea! lol

Actually, I am not on methadone but I am on low dose(~0.5mg's 1-3x's/day) suboxone. I get nice euphorical highs/buzzes from my suboxone doses every day and have for some time now. I also have valerian root 450mg capsules. Im not sure what the "valerenic acids" percentage is but I would assume its about the same as the OP's pills, meaning there is almost twice the amount of valerenic acids in my pills because they are 450mg's not 250mg's. Anyway.......I wouldnt necessarily say that the valerian "potentiates" my suboxone. In fact, the ONLY effect that I can say for 100% sure isnt placebo....is the EXTREMELY lucid dreams I get from the valerian root. It is unbelieveable how intense my dreams can be now....in fact, I wouldn't feel to off base saying that my dreams are much like minor acid trips. Thats how cool and lucid they are.

Also.....I notice that about 1 out of every 3-4 times I dose valerian root, it actually does relax me me somewhat. Not too much, but enough to be noticed and comparable to taking 1 mg of alprazolam with no tolerance.

For the record....the bottle says to take "up to 3 valerian pills at night for relaxation".

I on average take 7-10 pills at a time......but sometimes ill go higher. The most ive ever taken is 14. Its funny cause I dont necessarily notice any more relaxation in the higher doses....its just my dreams get more and more realistic.

You guys are using the wrong kind of valerian, those capsules fucking suck. You need to get the valerian extract, (liquid). Get a few bottles, take about a 1/8th of the bottle at a time. It works great. Try this kind out and you should be happy with the results.

Im actually quite happy with the results I get from the pills I have now. I have never seen the type of valerian extract you are talking about. I would imagine it smells even more horrific tha the pills I have. But I have no doubt either, that your extract could possibly work better than my pills.....I just dont feel the need to go searching all over the place for it. Like I said, im perfectly happy with the pills I take now. but thank you for making me aware of another formulation of valerian root.
