SWIM would like to share a current story that SWIM is embarking on. Recently graduated from a university, SWIM spent a month contemplating SWIM's future. For the past 6 years, SWIM has smoked cannabis everyday. In the past 4 years, SWIM has occasionally took opiates and psychedelics and even went on opiate binge phases. Before every test, SWIM would take 40-100 mg of adderall and accompany that with 2-4mg of xanax. SWIM binged on drinking 2-3 times per week and even went on a month of blacking out daily. In the final year of SWIM's college days, SWIM took at least 2mg and upwards to 8mg of xanax per day, while mixing that with party drugs such as cocaine and alcohol.
SWIM was young and was living the "typical college life"-- indulging as much as possible and not worrying about any consequences. However, SWIM managed to graduate college at 22 years young. The future is as bright as SWIM wants it to be and SWIM knows that SWIM cannot continue this deliberating lifestyle... so SWIM took a vacation alone out to a different country, where SWIM had no access to anything and hopefully SWIM's curiosity about life can fill the void of drug intake.
SWIM never thought addiction was something that could happen to him. In college, SWIM thought SWIM was immortal. SWIM could beer bong a whole half fifth of tequila, do some coke, and party the whole night. After this, SWIM would wake up, do some more coke or adderall and make it to class. SWIM did well in college and also had the will power to stay fit and keep his life together.
SWIM's biggest problem was when SWIM was introduced to xanax. SWIM loved how easily these pills were to make someone blackout, thus SWIM was an immediate fan. SWIM took at least 2mg per day for a year and did not stop. During SWIM's graduation ceremony, SWIM was barred out. It seemed like SWIM was always barred out nowadays... and SWIM knew SWIM must stop.
SWIM had a whole life ahead, thus SWIM took a flight to a different country-- to go cold turkey for 2 months. SWIM's muscles did not feel the same for 2 weeks. SWIM was really talented in basketball but he could not control his body to beat the easiest of opponents. SWIM suffered from insomnia for 3 weeks, averaging around 4 hours of sleep per night (while on vacation). SWIM would have vivid dreams and some would revolve around SWIM taking xanax in dreams. SWIM could not enjoy SWIM's vacation to the fullest, yet every passing day would make SWIM feel happier and better inside. At 4 weeks out of 8 now, SWIM is feeling "normal" again. SWIM does have thoughts about taking drugs, but nothing is too hard to overcome. Today, SWIM woke up refreshed and happy, thus SWIM is writing this to share SWIM's journey.
SWIM understands that others have it much harder, however, there is always a way.
Safe swimming!
