Okay, so it's pretty obvious what this is goin to be about. I'm not that educated on the med card facts. Basically what I'm askin for is some advice, some pros and cons on getting the med card. I'm 18 and I'm currently a student at my local community college and I live with my parents. They know I smoke pot, but they only don't like it because its illegal and they're afraid that I'll get into other drugs. But that part is behind me, I already experimented with my fair share of drugs, and they know all about it. The reason why im curious about fettin my card is because of my back. ive played sports my whole like and ever sonce 8th grade ie had back problems. pne day at practice i for hit and Slammed to the ground and adjusted my spine. i went to a chiropractor and they made it worse. I wakeup in the morning and my back is all stiff and hurts like hell. troughout the day i can feel the pain in my back. So once again, I'm just lookin for some help with my decision. Can anyone out there help me out?

if you want to know if your back pain qualifies you for a medical marijuana card, check with a doctor who specializes in that sort of thing. we can't help you with that.

but i changed the title of your thread to turn the discussion more towards using marijuana for pain relieving purposes.

i was at a friends house the other day, leant over to get the bong, something fucks up in my back major and i can barely move... i let myself recover and started smoking...
because i had a bit of a body high, the pain sort of mixed together with the high and made it somewhat pleasurable, and a lot less uncomfortable...

just thought id share, im no genius...

Dude I am your same age! I wake up stiff every morning feeling stiff and its not like i can stretch to make it go away it just goes away after smoking some Blackberry Kush and walking around for about 15 minutes. I started taking painkillers because I hated the pain and now I am hooked on 20 mg of methadone daily.
But for the most part it goes away during the days, but at night, like right now! it starts hurting like shit!

liquor is the best pain killer imo

mix a strong gin and sink into oblivion...opiates arent too bad either.

ganja can be good for pain relief, for me mainly because it helps me sleep it off...

note; oral ganja or hash oil feels very similar to oxy or morphine...without the pushy buzz...so yeh maybe try eating some hash or hash oil for pain relief!

what state do you live in? If it's CA or CO you can get a med card extremely easy with or without chronic pain. Your situation sounds very similar to mine, I told my parents I was getting a med card and I think I even convinced my mom to pay for the original one (it's been renewed since) by telling her it would keep me from getting any possesion ticket. I mean, they know I smoke so I might as well not get in trouble for doing it.

I find weed (and particularly concentrates) help me with pain relief. I would stay away from opiates. Sure, I'm addicted to weed but it's nothing like opiates. And it helps with pain just as well. Cannabis is great natural medicine :)

I too, am 18, and smoking to relieve the pain from my Scoliosis correction surgery (3ft scar!) Too bad my state's not licenced for mmj. I am on 180 Norco's a month.

Smoking it helps pain a little but I find eating it does way more, especially if it's an indica I'm eating.

Mmmm... special cookies.

This is something for you and your doctor to talk about, we aren't about self medication here, and I'm afraid you'd get some poor advice here. Try it out, see how it works for you, try both heavy indica, sativa, and hybrids. Find what fixes what ails you best, then decide if you can afford both the time it takes up, and the money. It will likely become a habit - not a bad one- but one you rely on.

As a former pain care user (~800 oxycodone per day), I would highly recommend cannabis if at all possible, but we can only offer you advice in that manner.

If you see a reason why this should remain open, please PM me and explain why. Otherwise, closed, since we are not doctors, but rather drug users :)
