What's up guys. Im 21, I was diagnosed with 14 with a Degenerative Bone Disease. 5 failed surgeries, 1000 dislocations, every other Surgeon denying me at 5 surgeries, and 6 years later, I have to live like this the rest of my life. I get 90 30mg OxyCodones a month. Now, just because I have real pain & take them as prescribed does not meen you can't get physically addicted. I came off about 180mg a day Cold Turkey a couple weeks ago, it was 5 days of hell, but I pulled through. I can handle all withdrawal symptoms besides throwing up, thats when I become a pussy. So after being 7 days clean, I had gotten my script that day on Thursday and I couldn't hold myself back from taking 90mg. On Saturday night I ended up taking 120mg, exactly 24 hours after the 90mg dose. Keep in mind I had just went through a hellish withdrawal that lasted like 4 days that was real bad. So I was looking all over the internet to see what people had to see about going back into withdrawal. Keep in mind I did not take any Suboxone or anything that could fuck with my receptors, I just cold turkeyed it and went through the hellish 4 days. I was soooo scared I was going to go back into hellish withdrawal. Im past the 36 hour mark & I'm okay. Just got the RLS. So by NO means am I encouraging opiate relapse, Im just telling you guys the answer I was looking for the other day. After a 7 day withdrawal & 2 nights of using, the only part of withdrawal that came back is the evil Restless Legs.

As a fellow CPP (chronic pain patient) I understand the unique position you are in of yo-yo-ing between your medication and running out early and suffering the withdrawals. All I have to say to that is that you need to make a choice: Are you going to use your pain meds to get high? Or are you going to use your pain meds more responsibly to deal with your pain?

If you are opting for using your meds for fun, then running out early and suffering withdrawals are no one's fault but your own. I know for myself I've had to learn to use my meds responsibly because otherwise I am dealing with more pain and more agony through withdrawal. I recommend you set up a system so your meds are dispersed on a daily or weekly basis so you cant run through them. I now use a family member to give me my daily meds and the rest are locked in a safe, which gives me peace of mind.

Please opt to use your meds for your pain problem. It is not worth it if the cost is hurting more and miserable withdrawals. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk more.

if you wanna get high why don't you take less than your regular doses some days when your pain isn't to bad, and then use the stockpiles for fun every once and a while, without worrying about running out of your meds?

Then again this is opiates we are talking about I guess I know the answer to my question.

I just want to point out that just because the OP didn't get very bad withdrawal symptoms after taking oxys for 2 days after 7 days clean does not by any means prove that others won't get bad WDs after starting up using opioids again for a short period of time after a week of not using. There are so many variables and it also greatly varies from person to person.

Unless you are dealing with opioids with extremely long half life's (like say methadone or fentanyl) then most people are not going to have acute withdrawal symptoms after 7 days clean and using for 2 days after that. A person may indeed suffer RLS or perhaps minor chills and/or stomach issues but 2 days of use is never going to put someone into severe acute withdrawal...its just physiologically impossible after 7 days clean.

I thought fentanyl had a reall short half-life?

And I think people should leave at least 2 weeks of WDs before using. if not more like a month especially for opiates like methadone. Apart from risking putting yourself back into the withdrawal period you should expect to become addicted again before long (going by the statistics & my own experience).
It's just not enough time away from the addict frame of mind & drug-seeking behavior.
